Gurpreet: (in a cheerful tone) Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our play titled “The Hysterical Parent-Teacher Meeting.” Today, we dive into the chaotic world of Vasu, the undisputed leader of our gang, who’s fantastic at e-sports but struggling with his school grades. Let’s meet our cast—Tarshpreet Singh, Vasu’s short-tempered
father, ready to explode at any moment; Harsimaran, the nurturing mother, convinced her son can do no wrong; Kirat, our wise and strict South Indian teacher, and Arnav, the scriptwriter and prefect, whose lines are sharper than a katana! And I’m Gurpreet, your narrator, here to guide you through this hilarious mess! Remember,
this is all in good fun, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!
(Vasu, Tarshpreet, and Harsimaran sit nervously in front of Kirat’s desk. Arnav stands beside Kirat, grinning mischievously.)
Kirat: (sternly, with a heavy accent) Ah, Mr. and Mrs. Singh, we need to talk about your son, Vasu’s performance. He’s scored only 10 marks out of 100 in mathematics!
Tarshpreet Singh: (furiously) Only 10 marks?! (slamming the desk) What have you been doing, Vasu? Playing video games all day?
Harsimaran: (gently) Calm down, Tarshpreet. Vasu is a smart boy; maybe he’s just having a rough patch.
Tarshpreet Singh: (sarcastically) Rough patch? If he keeps this up, his future will be as rough as sandpaper!
Arnav: (grinning) Sir, maybe Vasu is just saving his energy for more important battles… in the virtual world, of course.
Kirat: (seriously) Mr. Singh, Mrs. Singh, as a teacher, I must emphasize that education is paramount. Vasu, why are you neglecting your studies?
Vasu: (meekly) I’m just not good at math, teacher… But I’m unbeatable in “Call of Duty”!
Tarshpreet Singh: (shouting) We didn’t send you to school to become a video game champion, Vasu! Next, you’ll tell me you want to make a career out of it!
Harsimaran: (defending Vasu) Tarshpreet, don’t yell at him! He’s still young, and we should support him!
Tarshpreet Singh: (angrily) Support him? At this rate, the only support he’ll need is from a math tutor!
Arnav: (mockingly) Well, at least Vasu’s aiming for something… Even if it’s just headshots in the game.
Gurpreet (Narrator): And so, the classroom turns into a battlefield, with Tarshpreet’s temper clashing against Harsimaran’s motherly love. But little do they know, this is just the beginning of the drama…
(Tarshpreet is pacing back and forth, furious. Vasu sits with his head down. Harsimaran is trying to calm Tarshpreet.)
Kirat: (sternly) Vasu, I understand online gaming can be fun, but education is not a game. What will you do if you don’t study?
Vasu: (quietly) But teacher, I’m really good at gaming… I could go pro…
Tarshpreet Singh: (exploding) Pro?! In what, wasting time?! (slaps Vasu on the back of the head) You’re going to focus on your studies, or else…!
Harsimaran: (shocked) Tarshpreet! That’s enough! Violence isn’t the answer! Vasu, are you okay, beta?
Vasu: (rubbing his head) I’m fine, mom… It’s just… I really don’t like studying.
Arnav: (leaning in, grinning) Vasu, maybe you should try finding the cheat codes for math—oh wait, those don’t exist!
Gurpreet (Narrator): And there it is! The classic Indian parent’s solution—one slap to fix all problems. But will it work this time? Or will Vasu find his own way to success?
(Kirat is standing in front of the board, holding Vasu’s report card. Tarshpreet and Harsimaran are sitting anxiously, while Vasu stands nervously in front of them. Arnav is nearby, smirking.)
Kirat: (calmly) Mr. and Mrs. Singh, I have something to show you. Vasu may not be excelling in traditional academics, but…
Kirat: (smiling) Not quite. Vasu recently participated in an e-sports tournament and… (dramatic pause) He won first place!
Harsimaran: (excitedly) My son is a champion! I knew it! See, Tarshpreet, he’s talented!
Arnav: (grinning) In gaming, sir! Vasu might just be the next big thing in e-sports. And guess what? They’re offering him a scholarship!
Kirat: (nodding) Yes, Mr. Singh. It’s a growing industry, and Vasu has the potential to make a successful career out of it. But he must learn to balance his passion with his studies.
Harsimaran: (beaming) I always knew my Vasu was special! Tarshpreet, isn’t this wonderful?
Tarshpreet Singh: (slowly smiling) Well… if he’s getting a scholarship… Maybe there’s something to this gaming after all.
Arnav: (with a cool tone) Looks like Vasu just leveled up in real life. Maybe now he can teach us all a lesson or two.
Kirat: (wisely) Remember, Vasu, with great power comes great responsibility. You can pursue your dreams, but never forget the importance of education.
Gurpreet (Narrator): And so, our tale comes to an end with Vasu’s parents finally understanding his unique talents. Who knew that a passion for gaming could lead to something more? In the end, it’s not about forcing our children into molds, but helping them become the best versions of themselves.
Arnav: (with a smirk) And with that, let’s call it a game over!
