V. NARRATIVE OF THE
ACTIVITY Gamuton Elementary School shows genuine support
for the Matatag Basic Education Agenda and in partnership
with the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP).As a
grade two teacher, together with the three volunteered
teachers voluntarily participated as teacher-facilitator in the
National Learning Camp for the 2023-2024 End of the School
Year break. The learning camp was held for three
consecutive weeks starting July 1 up to July 19, 2024. The
following reports reflect the program’s execution with the
class comprising 8 learners focusing on the Key Stage 2
Learners.

Week 1: (July 1-5, 2024)

On July 1, 2024, three volunteer teachers and the head

teacher conducted an orientation for the parents. The
orientation was marked by active participation and support
from the learners’ parents who joined the camp. The first
week of the program was characterized by the eagerness of
the learners to learn. We also prepared our classroom and
instructional materials to create an effective learning
environment.

After understanding the memo from the DepEd, we

developed a plan to conduct classes on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Thursdays (four and a half-hour sessions
focusing on reading and math). Mondays and Fridays were

designated for preparing worksheets, brainstorming, and

online monitoring of our learners, with the full support of our
school head, Mr. Pronie C. Egpit. We prepared reading
materials and other instructional resources, and
subsequently engaged the learners in a fun and effective
teaching-learning process.

Initially, we taught the sounds of the letters “m,” “a,” and

“s.” Short vowel words and letter sounds were emphasized
for the Filipino campers. All learners consistently attended
and showed excitement in class due to various fun activities.
Each learner demonstrated enthusiasm for learning,
especially in the Math class.

Additionally, we were ready to submit various reports to the

monitoring team of our District. They provided suggestions
and recommendations for implementing the learning camp.

Week 2: (July 8-12,2024)

In the learning environment, I engaged learners in

storytelling, facilitated learning, and provided activities
suited to their capabilities. I also checked and sorted the
activity sheets of the campers, regularly exchanging insights
on students’ progress and noting their active participation in
discussions and other practice exercises.

During discussions, we conducted interactive games to

engage learners, facilitate learning, and provide activities
tailored to their abilities.

Week 3: (July 15-19,2024)

This week has been particularly busy for the teachers as we

prepared certificates for the learners in recognition of their
achievements, along with the final fun lessons for the week.

On the last day of the learning camp, we held a short

program as part of the Culminating Activity, which took place
in the classroom.

MY REFLECTION

In my reflection, this fruitful experience has been essential

not only for the learners but also for us as teachers. The
learning camp has provided me with invaluable additional
knowledge and skills. I am sincerely thankful for the vacation
service credits, the certificate of recognition, and the other
incentives provided by the DepEd in appreciation of our
extended service.

This experience has been incredibly rewarding, and I am

proud to have contributed to the success of this year's
national Learning Camp. I look forward to more collaborative
endeavors with fellow educators and stakeholders in the
future, as these partnerships are vital for the continued
growth and development of both our learners and our
teaching practices. This experience has reinforced my
commitment to providing quality education and has
highlighted the importance of ongoing professional
development.
