2.1
Mandla stays in Cape Town. He plans to visit the Addo National Park (NP) during his
holidays. ANNEXURE A shows a map with the route from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth
and the distance table, showing the distances between some of the towns en route from
Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.
2.1.2 Given that the road distance between Port Elizabeth and Addo National Park
is 68,5 km,
(a) Calculate the distance between Cape Town and the Addo National Park
(3)
If the shortest route is used.
(b) Mandla plans to stop every time after travelling at least 200 km.

Write down the names of the towns or cities where he will stop.
2.1.3 The distance between Humansdorp and St. Francis Bay on the map is given as
22 km. This distance on the map looks much larger than the distance between

picture below. The height of each can is 15 cm, and the gap between the can and the
height of the shelf is 4 cm.

4 1.2 The price of a recliner armchair was R7 042,00 in 2022. Use the average rates
of inflation shown on the graph to calculate the difference in its price in 2021 (8)
and 2023.

On the 1st January 2022, Amson and Garry invested in a transport business. They
invested a total of R24 000,00 in the ratio 5:3 respectively. On the 31st December
2023 they shared a profit of R4 320,00 in the same ratio as their investment.
For the same period Sharon chose to invest R12 000,00 at ABC Bank. The bank
offered her 7,5% per annum compounded annually.
