PRODUCTS AFFECTED
GI 275 Multi-function Instrument systems installed under the GI 275 Part 23 AML STC SA02658SE are
affected.

PURPOSE
This STC Service Bulletin provides notification of STC SA02658SE Master Drawing List revision 24.
Major details of the updates are:
• Updated GI 275 System Software to version 3.20:
◦ Added TAWS-B VCO audio LRU coordination to prevent conflicting callouts
◦ Enabled along-track waypoints to be selectable
◦ Added a new altitude display box above the airspeed tape to display complimentary units
(Meters/Feet)
◦ Adjusted EGT/TIT bars to be slightly narrower to improve readability
• Approved installations of the Garmin Restrictor fitting (EIS installations) to smooth manifold
pressure fluctuations
• Approved Static Source Error Correction (SSEC) for the Internal ADC applicable to the Textron
Aviation Inc. 525A (Cessna 525A) aircraft
• Added PA-28-161 (Cadet) and STINSON V-77 (Army AT-19) models to the AML
• Approved interface to Alcor 'gasket-style' cylinder head temperature thermocouple probes
• Approved interface to the GNC® 215 NAV/COMM Radio
• Expanded allowable GSB™ 15 High-Speed USB Charging Hub For Aircraft installation locations

DESCRIPTION
This service bulletin provides instructions for locating and downloading STC documents and GI 275
software, and loading GI 275 software to the affected system.
Refer to the GI 275 Part 23 AML STC Master Drawing List, 005-01208-41 Rev. 24, for the data necessary
to incorporate this STC.

MATERIAL INFORMATION
The STC documentation is downloadable from the Garmin Dealer Resource Center at
https://dealers.garmin.com.

COMPLIANCE
This service bulletin is optional and may be incorporated at the owner’s discretion.

APPROVAL
The GI 275 Multi-function Instrument is FAA-approved for installation in accordance with STC SA02658SE
GI 275 Part 23 AML STC, Master Drawing List 005-01208-41 revision 24. For a list of FAA-approved data
for installation, refer to the Master Drawing List.

DOCUMENTATION CONSIDERATIONS

The GI 275 Part 23 AML STC Airplane Flight Manual Supplement, Garmin P/N 190-02246-12, Rev 12 is
required to be issued to the aircraft owner/operator before the aircraft is returned to service, if not already
provided.
The GI 275 Pilot’s Guide, Garmin P/N 190-02246-01, Rev Q has been updated to reflect GI 275
Multi-function Instrument Software Version 3.20.

One (1) hour labor per affected aircraft to update the GI 275 Software.

MODIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE
Loading earlier software to units with Main Software Version 3.20 will result in loss of
pitch/roll and mag cals.

1. Download the software image (006-B3182-0P.exe) and save to your hard drive.
2. Open 006-B3182-0P.exe.
3. Select “Yes.”
4. Connect a USB drive to your PC and follow the on-screen prompts.

NOTE
This process will overwrite any existing data on the USB drive.

5. Push and hold the GI 275 inner knob while applying power to enter Configuration Mode.
6. Accept the prompt.

7. Attach the USB drive to the dongle or the GSB™ 15 high-speed USB charging hub for aircraft.
8. Wait for the USB image to appear, indicating valid connection to the GI 275.

To Save the system configuration:
9. Select SW/Config.

10. Select Config Options.

 15. Select Back to return to the SW/Config menu.

16. Select Loader Card.

To load software to units with software versions earlier than 3.01, continue to Step 17. To load software to
units with 3.01 or later, continue to Step 25.

 18. Select GRMN Key 3.00 and System 3.20.

19. Select Back to return to the Loader Card menu.

 21. Select Begin Update.

22. Once the software load is complete, select Restart Now. The unit will enter Configuration mode.

 28. Once the software load is complete, select Restart Now. The unit will enter Configuration mode.

RETURN TO SERVICE TEST PROCEDURE

1. Apply power to the GI 275 into Configuration Mode.

2. To verify software versions installed:
a) Select System Info.
b) Select Device Info.
c) Make sure the software version and software part number match what is listed in GI 275
Part 23 AML STC Equipment List, P/N 005-01208-42, Rev. 20.
3. Inspect all system and interface settings to make sure no unintended changes were made.
4. Perform system checkouts for the new features as appropriate per GI 275 Part 23 AML STC
Installation Manual, 190-02246-10, Section 6, or GI 275 STC EIS & MFD Installation Manual,
190-02246-14, Section 6.
