GUIDE CARD

ARNIS CLASSICAL STRIKES


1. Taas- Baba - A striking technique which is similar to the rompida, except that the stick is not
encircled overhead prior to each up and down movement in front of the body.
2. Banda Y Banda (Horizontal Strikes) - denotes a side to side motion practiced in many Filipino
Martial Arts. A striking technique which consists of pointing the stick forward and moving it
rapidly and horizontally from left to right in front of the body.
3. Rompida - A striking technique which consists of circling the stick overhead prior to each up
and down striking movement in front of the body.
4. Side Rompida – striking technique which consists of diagonally upward and downward slash
or strike.
5. Doblada (Double Zero) - striking technique which consists of creating double zero in one side
of body or creating an x pattern.
6. Rapilon - striking technique which consist of moving the stick overhead in a circular motion
7. Doblete - striking technique which create double zero in each side of body.
8. Abaniko Corto - striking technique which consist of moving the stick in front of the body in a
fanning-like movement, in short phase.
9. Abaniko Largo - striking techniques which consist of moving the stick in front of the body in a
fanning-like movement, wider phase.
10. Abaniko Taas sa Ulo (Over the Head) - striking techniques which consist of moving the stick
overhead in a fanning-like movement.
