SECTION B (50 MARKS)
52. Read the passage carefully and in full sentences answer the
questions about it.
THE WISEST ANIMAL
Mr. Hare is the wisest animal on the jungle. His wisdom was seen long time
ago when he married the king’s daughter. When the king’s daughter reached
the time of marriage, the king said that the only wisest animal would marry
his daughter. The king told them the trick. The trick was that the only
animal which would drink the hot water was going to marry the king’s
daughter. All animals feared but Mr. Hare did not. He said that he was going
to drink the hot water in three minutes. The king gave him the pot of water
and other animals laughed at him.

Mr. Hare lifted the pot of water and started telling beautiful stories. His plan
was to tell beautiful stories as the hot water was cooling. All the other
animals and the king enjoyed the stories and did not think of water cooling.
When Mr. Hare saw that water had cooled , he told them to look at him and
drank all the water in two minutes. The king accepted him to marry his
daughter because he had passed the trick. Mr. Hare used his wisdom to pass
the king’s trick.
