At the airport:

The Scotts are going on vacation. They are going to travel by plane. They are
packing their bags. Sarah is very excited.

Sarah: I can't wait to be on the plane!

Mrs. Scott: The taxi is here. Let's go!
Taxi driver: I'll put your bags in the trunk for you.
Mr. Scott: Thank you very much.
Taxi driver: Where can I take you?
Mr. Scott: To the airport, please. Can you drop us off near the entrance?
Taxi driver: Yes, sure.
Taxi driver: Here we are. That'll be eight dollars and fifty cents, please.
Mr. Scott: Thanks for the ride. Keep the change.
Taxi driver: Thank you. Have a nice flight.

Sarah: What are we gonna do first, Mom?

Mrs. Scott: First, we need to go to the check-in counter.
Sarah: What are we going to do there?
Ms. Scott: We are going to check in our bags and get our boarding passes.
Let's go!
Sarah: There is such a long queue of passengers here!
Mr. Scott: Don't worry; we won't have to wait long. Hello, we would like to
check in.
Manager: Hello! Can I see your tickets and passports, please?
Mr. Scott: Yes, of course. Here they are!
Manager: How many bags are you checking in?
Mr. Scott: Two bags.
Manager: Could you put them on the scale, please?
Mr. Scott: Yes, sure.
Manager: How many carry-on bags are you taking with you?
Mrs. Scott: Two bags.
Sarah: Does that mean I can take my bag on the plane with me?
Mrs. Scott: Yes, Sarah.
Manager: Okay, here are your boarding passes and passports.
Mrs. Scott: Thank you.
Manager: You will be boarding at gate B2 at 12:10.
Ms. Scott: Okay, thank you very much.

Sarah: So where are we going now, Dad?

Mr. Scott: We're going through security now.
Mr. Scott: Hello.
Security guy: Hello. Put your bags on here, please. Empty your pockets and
put the contents in the tray.
Sarah: What is this machine, Dad?
Mr. Scott: This is the x-ray machine that looks inside things. Now we have to
step through the scanner. I'll go first.
Sarah: Now it's my turn.
Mr. Scott: Here is your bag.
Ms. Scott: Now we need to go to our gate. Let's take the escalator.

Mr. Scott: We are going to wait here for the boarding announcement.
Sarah: Why are we passing through this tunnel, Dad?
Mr. Scott: This is the boarding bridge. It takes us directly to the plane.
Flight attendant: Welcome aboard! I hope you enjoy your flight with us
today.
Here are your seats. You can put your bags into the overhead compartment.

Mr. Scott is sitting in the aisle seat. Mrs. Scott is sitting in the window seat,
and Sarah is sitting in the middle.
Sarah: Mom, can I sit by the window?
Mrs. Scott: Of course, you can. Let's switch seats.
Flight attendant: Please, fasten your seatbelt because the plane is going to
take off soon.

Sarah: Look, we're flying! This is so amazing!

Mrs. Scott: Now it's safe to unfasten the seatbelts.
Flight attendant: What would you like for your in-flight meal? We have
chicken and rice or pasta.
Mr. Scott: We'd like chicken and rice, please.
Flight attendant: Would you like anything to drink with that?
Sarah: Yes, I'll have a glass of lemonade, please.
Mr. Scott: And two glasses of water for us, please. We are about to land, so
please fasten your seat belts.

Sarah: Are we going to the hotel?

Mrs. Scott: First, we need to go to the baggage claim to get our bags.
