Aligned with the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and guided by the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP), I willingly joined as a teacher- facilitator for the National Learning Camp (NLC) during the 2022-2023 End-of-School Year break. This report covers the program's implementation from July 24 to August 25, 2023. Alalay Grande Elementary School joins the End of School Year Reading and Math Program. We conducted the orientation to roll -out the National Learning Camp at Kindergarten Classroom on July 25 due to strong wind and sudden heavy downpour. The said orientation was attended by school head, K-6 teachers and parents of incoming grades 1-3 in reading camp and incoming grades2-4 in math camp. The first week in our learning camp, classes were suspended due to the effects of Typhoon Egay, Pagasa raised wind signals over Luzon provinces, including Nueva Ecija which was under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. We provided learning materials and activity sheets to the parents and guardians to our NLC learners before they go to their home. Prior to this activity, we created group chat so we could be able to reach and monitor their child by sending videos that they are reading and answering their sheets and to update the parents about NLC. Our second week, I grouped them for varied activities and meaningful games that makes the learners interested to participate which makes them enjoy and learned. Before they go home I used to reward them chocolates, candies and very good/star stamps on their hands. Our District Supervisor Ma’am Marilou F. Tongol set up a meeting for NLC Volunteers in our District Office for sharing insights, brainstorming ideas, and exchanging best practices for teaching Reading and Mathematics. A comprehensive review of the camp's outcomes and forward-looking strategies for future NLC instances was discussed among educators.
Based from the legal basis, a certificate of Recognition shall be awarded
to all learners who fulfill the requirements of the camp in terms of accomplishment of learning tasks. Our closing program held on August 24, 2023 and it went well because stakeholders were very supportive. As the program ends learners wear their smile on their faces as they received their certificates, school supplies and feeding. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the DepEd for the provided incentives, recognizing our extra efforts. Being a part of this year's National Learning Camp's success story has been profoundly fulfilling, and I am optimistic about future educational collaborations.
