4.1How to connect wires?
Before carrying out wiring, turn off the power to the unit and check that the cables to
be connected are not alive because there is a possibility of electric shock.
NOTE:
 All wiring must confirm to appropriate standards of good practice and local
codes and regulations. Wiring must be suitable for Voltage, Current and
temperature rating of the system.
 Provide power from a single-phase instrument power supply. If there is a lot of
noise in the power line, insert an insulating transformer into the primary side
of the line and use a line filter on the secondary side. Do not place the primary
and secondary power cables close to each other.
 Use repeater after each set of 32 instruments connected in RS-485
Communication.
 Unused terminals should not be used as jumper points as they may be
internally connected, which may cause damage to the unit.
 Unused control terminals should not be used as jumper points as they may be
internally connected, which may cause damage to the unit.
 Use >250V-1Amp Cable for Power Supply.
 Supply voltage must be below maximum voltage rating specified on the label
 If cable has two parallel wires inside then isolation between them must be 2.5
KV.

8. CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
The instrument is factory calibrated for the specified range of Differential pressure
input (PV1)*, but due to long term drift of components, re-calibration may be
necessary in some cases. For calibrating the instrument a reliable source is required.
This source should be at least ten times accurate compared to the range of the
instrument.

The unit can be calibrated without opening it and without trim pots.
While calibration from Modbus please set flag to 1 on address 40201.and set it to 0
after done calibration.
For DIGITAL PRESSURE SENSOR:
8.1Procedure for calibration zero and span of pressure sensor
To calibrate CDU for Digital Sensor, zero calibration, span point 1 calibration and
span point 2 calibration are required.

Zero calibration: The value should be calibrated to zero only.

Example: if process value is 0.4, then calibrate that value to 0.0

Span Point 1 Calibration: It can be done either at positive side or negative side.
Example:
 0 to 125 Pa. 0 means zero calibration and 125 means span point 1 calibration.
 0 to -125 Pa. 0 means zero calibration and -125 means span point 1
calibration.

Span Point 2 Calibration: It can be done at positive side only.

Example:
0 to 140 Pa. 0 means zero calibration and 140 means span point 2 calibration.

To enter into the Calibration Mode, Please refer Menu Layout.

Apply appropriate Input from the source, and press ‘DECREMENT KEY’ until
decimal point of digit 4 of PV-1 starts to blink. It indicates calibration is done.

MODBUS CALIBRATION:

Calibration of pressure sensor input with Modbus RTU.

Example:
To calibrate pressure input:
Set value of zero point on Modbus holding register 40092.
Set value of span point 1 on Modbus holding register 40093.
Set value of span point 2 on Modbus holding register 40094.

Now to calibrate zero point write “1” , to calibrate span point 1 write “2” , to calibrate
span point 2 write “3” on Modbus holding register 40091.

* No need of calibration for PV2 and PV3 for digital sensor only,
Zigbee Based communication with HT16Ew is required for PV2 and PV3 for digital
sensor only.
For ANALOG SENSOR:
8.2Procedure for calibration zero and span of analog input channel
To calibrate CDU for Analog input, zero calibration, span calibration is required.

After applying appropriate Input from the calibrator source, press ‘INCREMENT’ OR
‘DECREMENT’ KEY to bring the actual process value on display according to
applied input voltage.
Example:
At zero calibration reading expected on the display is 100 and it shows 107, one
need to adjust the process value to 100 by using ‘DECREMENT KEY’. Now press
‘ENT’ to store the calibration parameter in non-volatile memory. Similarly one can
calibrate SPAN.

MODBUS CALIBRATION:
Calibration of All three channels with Modbus RTU.

Example:

To calibrate channel 1:
Set value of zero point on Modbus holding register 40102.
Set value of span point on Modbus holding register 40103.

Now to calibrate zero point write “1” and to calibrate span point write “2” on Modbus
holding register 40101.

Note: same procedure is applicable for channel 2 and channel 3 please refer chapter
10 for Modbus address.
