rebuild it, if it were possible, and make it even better. That’s
exactly what God is planning to do with this world. Let’s see how.

THE RESCUE PLAN

Adam and Eve lived in the glory of a perfect world, but their sin
brought ruin to the earth.

In figurative language, we could say that they rolled down into a
deep well of darkness, where we’re all currently stuck.

We’ve all been born in this well, grown-up, reproduced, aged,

become diseased, died, and been buried, many times without hope.

“But thanks be to God, who began a rescue plan as soon as the
first couple sinned, because “Before the foundations of the earth
were laid, the Father and the Son…

overcome by Satan” (The Desire of Ages, 834).

What a better place to start his rescue plan than in the midst of a
family? Jesus took part of the holiness of family along with his
mother, adoptive father and brothers. That family and that boy set an
unquestionable model for all families today:

“And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with
wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him.”

Guided by Joseph, Jesus learned the trade of a carpenter. He
probably sang as he worked, smiling to those who approached him,

until the day he heard that John was baptizing. Jesus knew his time
had come

was the last time he would use them, and saying good-bye to his
mother, marched towards river Jordan.

32 Jesus didn’t have any sins to bury, but he still asked to be baptized.
Don’t you think that if we live in sin, we should follow the same
example he left us?

After his baptism, Jesus began his ministry of love, that’s how Peter
describes it:

44 Still, none of this was taken into consideration. It didn’t matter that
5000 men were fed, nor that the blind received sight, nor that the
lame could walk, or that the mute could sing praises to God because
of the wonders that Jesus performed. The devil was his enemy and
had purposed his heart to destroy Jesus. Peter adds in his sermon:

“And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land
of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a
tree.”

“…not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God,
even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the

that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living

49 They murdered him, but that death was not an accident. It was part of
the plan that was made since the beginning. Just like Moses lifted up
a snake in the wilderness, the cross was lifted up on Calvary, where it
could be compared to a bridge between this fallen world and the
infinite heavens. Jesus descended to the abyss where we had fallen
and surrendered his life so that we could live through Him. We can
now say that our debt was paid on the cross where Christ gave his
life for us, and one day we will be able to return to the lost paradise.

THE PROMISE OF HOPE
Jesus gathered with his disciples to have his last supper. Just a few
hours before he was sentenced to death, He encouraged them with a
solemn declaration that can also give us hope.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also
in Me...”

“…In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you…”

“…And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and
receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

54 This is the promise to restore the lost Eden. Jesus won’t allow his
enemy to ruin his masterpiece forever. He will return to give a

definite solution to all the problems we face in our homes and in our
lives.

Christ’s return will be the climax in earth’s history. Every person
alive will witness the return of the King of Kings who is coming to
take possession of what has always belonged to Him.

The disciples were also curious about it and went to Jesus to find out

WE NEED PREPARATION

“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither
shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”

92 “Mom –a young boy said-, my teacher said that this world is a

temporary place where God allows us to live until we’re ready for a
new world; but, mom, I don’t see anybody getting ready for
anything. I see you get ready to go to the fields, and aunt Elsa gets
ready whenever she comes to visit us; but I don’t see anybody getting
ready to come to heaven. If everyone wants to get there, why don’t
they prepare themselves?” Don’t you think that’s a great question?

But really, how can we prepare ourselves for this? It’s actually not
that difficult. We will talk about it on our next topic. The title will
give you a hint: “How to have a new family.” Don’t miss out.

94 APPEAL
Every unpleasant event that we’re confronted with and all the bad
news we receive, are actually good news because they’re foretelling
us what is about to come.

95 There’s a story about a mother who sent her young daughter and son
on a ship under the protection of the crew. The father would be
waiting for them on arrival. But as they were in the middle of the sea,
a great storm broke. Many passengers were scared, the little girl too,
wept in fear. Nothing could calm her down, until her young brother
said to her: “Don’t cry Rosita, remember that dad is waiting for us as

soon as this storm is over.”

That message is the same for us. Hold on just a little longer, because
when this is all over and Jesus returns to save us, we will be next to
our Heavenly Father. Let us pray, so we can find strength in this
promise.
