July Cycle B Senior Kids
July Cycle B Senior Kids
LITURGICAL CYCLE B
MONTHLY CHAPTER ASSEMBLY
III. OBJECTIVES:
Last month, we talked about gratitude. Our proclamation statement was "I will always
be thankful to Jesus!" Did you have fun making your family journal? (Let them show
their journals.) Don’t forget to continue putting pictures in your family journal and
continue attending Sunday Mass with your family. Through our Take Home Activity,
we are reminded to give importance to attending the Holy Mass as a family. The Holy
Mass is the highest form of prayer and God wants us to participate as a family.
Are you excited for this month’s Proclamation Statement? This month, we say “I WILL
PUT MY TRUST IN JESUS!”
He summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them
authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but
a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts. They were, however, to
wear sandals but not a second tunic. He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house,
stay there until you leave from there. Whatever place does not welcome you or listen
to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them.” So
they went off and preached repentance. They drove out many demons, and they
anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.
STORYLINE
(NOTE: The Speaker can use the storyline to better explain the Gospel to the kids. Be
creative! It may be delivered interactively through photos or role-playing.)
• One day, Jesus called his twelve disciples. He told them that they would be going
to other places to talk about the Good News (Do you know what the Good News
is about? The Good News is about who Jesus Christ is.), and He sent them in pairs.
• Jesus also told them that when they go to these places, they should not bring
anything. They should not bring any food, bags, or even money.
• He told them that some people would welcome them in their houses. When they
are welcomed there, they should stay there until they leave the place.
• But if the owner of the house will not welcome them, or will not even listen to
them, they must “shake off the dust from their sandals”. This is a sign that they
are not welcomed by the people living there.
• When Jesus finished, the disciples went out in pairs and told the people about how
they should say sorry for their sins, and to try to be good. They also healed people
who were sick.
Instructions:
• In the family, the kid will be the one who will
perform the Trust Fall. The parent/guardian
must assist the kid in the activity.
• How was the experience kids? Were you scared? Why were you scared? (Let them
respond.) For our parents/guardians, were you worried or confident?
• Some may find it difficult to trust others. To trust is to rely on and believe in the
goodness of others. We build trust by allowing others to take care of us the way
our parents do, and the way Jesus does.
• The apostles in the Gospel trusted Jesus with their lives (for their food, shelter,
and clothing) because they were so sure that Jesus would take care of them and
would not leave them.
• We believe that like the apostles, Jesus will take care of us too: our needs, studies,
and dreams. We just have to pray to Him every day and believe that Jesus loves
us so much.
• Good work everyone! God is good and He wants us to trust Him always in
everything that we do. Once again, let us say, “I will put my trust in Jesus!”.
X. FEATURED SAINT
SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA
Feast Day: July 31
1. The service team will play the chant/song of the KFC Heroes Challenge. This is
their signal to be a hero and do the KFC Heroes Challenge.
2. “St. Ignatius is like a hero of the Catholic Church. We too could be like him and
be a hero. Do you want to be a hero like Saint Ignatius?” (Yes!)
3. “It’s KFC Heroes Challenge time! A hero is always prepared in every situation
wherever he/she is needed. The KFC Heroes Challenge today is to care for the
Environment.”
4. This is our KFC Heroes Challenge. Are you ready? (Yes!) We will play bring me!
And whoever brings first a waste material or trash that is RECYCLABLE wins!
5. As KFC Heroes, we must take care of the environment because God entrusted
the earth to us.
1. Our assignment is to always say “YES” to our parents. So, for everything that our
parents will ask us to do, we must always say “YES”.
2. List down the moments when you said “YES” to your parents. (Ex. Asked to wash
the dishes)
3. Our parents are gifts from God, so as we trust Jesus, we must also trust our parents
because Jesus entrusted us to their care.
XIII. PARENTS FORUM (Print out as Hand Outs for Parents)
• In today’s topic, your children were taught the value of trust. Children develop
trust at an early age. They trust their parents when they are fed and taken care of;
they trust their friends when they are accepted; they trust their neighbors when
they are recognized.
• So, our goal as parents is to develop trust in our children and guide them on where
and whom to put that trust.
• As parents we teach them that God is trustworthy. We focus on teaching them the
ability to trust others by being trustworthy ourselves and showing them that we
are not afraid to trust God, especially during trials and problems.
• Be the model of that trust by letting your children see that you trust your
husband/wife. Listen to your spouse and to their opinions on the issues that you
encounter as a family.
• Let your children see that you trust God as well by having prayer time as a family
and letting your children hear that you ask God’s help in all situations. Let your
children see that you are never concerned with the problems because Jesus is with
you and your family.
• Lastly, emphasize that when bad things happen, God is always present. We may
not know the full reason why these things are happening but God has His reasons
and these are always for our good. Always remind them that God has a greater
plan for all of us.
• Take note of your children’s Assignments. They will have a “YES CHALLENGE”. For
the whole month, your children will always say yes to the things you ask and
request. Always remind and follow up with them about this challenge.
• Aside from this, let us also take time to discuss the FEATURED SAINT of the month
(St. Ignatius of Loyola) during our Family Household. Please ask the intercession
of the featured saint during your Family Prayer Time.
