Points
Parliamentary
Inquiry THE DELEGATE OF INDIA
WOULD LIKE TO RAISE A
POINT OF _____
Information
Order
-Logical
-Factual
Point of personal
privilege
This is used to bring up anything that you personally would
like to happen, for your benefit (unrelated to actual
committee). For example, if you needed a certain delegate
to repeat their speech because you didn't hear something
properly, you can raise this point. If you want the fan to be
switched on, you can use this point.
Point of
parliamentary inquiry
This is basically a question you ask directly to the EB about
committee procedure. For example, if for some reason you
forget about a certain rule, or don't know what is happening
in committee at a given time, you can use this point to ask
the EB.
Point of information
The delegate of ___ would like to raise a POI
When you have time remaining but have completed your speech, you may yield(give
away) this time in 4 different ways as seen above.
Chits
Every committee uses chits in different ways, but generally they are used to reply to/ask a
POI. When there is no time for another question for a delegate, the EB may ask other
questions to be asked only through chits. This means that you send a message to the
delegate, asking or replying to the POI.
Chits are seen by the EB and are used to evaluate your skills to reply to or ask a POI, so they
are usually sent via the EB.
