 The President of the Philippines: As the head of state and government, the President wields immense power and influence over the
country's policies and decision-making processes. Currently, President Rodrigo Duterte holds this position.
 The Catholic Church: The Catholic Church is a powerful institution in the Philippines, with more than 80% of the population
identifying as Catholics. It has played a significant role in shaping the country's culture, values, and politics.
 Business tycoons: Several Filipino business tycoons hold significant economic power in the country, such as the Ayala family, the Sy
family, and the Gokongwei family. They control vast conglomerates with diverse business interests, ranging from real estate and
retail to telecommunications and banking.
 Political dynasties: Political dynasties are prominent in the Philippines, where families with long-standing political influence have
dominated various government positions for decades. Examples include the Aquino, Marcos, and Estrada families.
 Armed forces: The Philippine armed forces are one of the most powerful institutions in the country, with a long history of
involvement in politics and governance. It has played a significant role in both internal and external security, as well as disaster
response and relief efforts.
