Editor’s notes
The term "turpentine" refers to the essence of turpentine or essential oil of turpentine, which
is obtained by distillation of pine resin
It is a 100% natural product, not to be confused with mineral turpentine which is derived
from petroleum.
In the basic protocol of V.Sanz and K.Wagner, it is said that it is very important to deworm
pets, as they are a potential vector of parasites for us humans. Never give turpentine with
coconut or olive oils orally to the animal. Plant based oils are no good for a dogs/cats
intestine. They will create leaky gut and you don’t want that.
You can give it, for example, with food or put the drops in a capsule. After a week of
treatment, or less, you will notice the presence of worms in the animal's stools. Continue
with this dose once a week until the stools are clear.
The first time you give turpentine to your dog or cat, always start with a very low dose.
For example, doses are calculated as for humans, at 1 drop per kilo of weight. In the English
system, this would be ~1 drop per 2 pounds of weight.
We always start on the back of the animal, at the place marked in the circle in the following
figure:
Let's say your dog/cat weighs 10 kilos, the maximum dose for 7 to 10 days would be 10
drops of turpentine. It is recommended to always mix the drops with a little coconut oil or
extra virgin olive oil.
This is so that the turpentine does not cause a burn, as some animals have more sensitive
skin than others. When you apply the turpentine, it causes a warm feeling and some animals
run away, because they don't know what is happening to them and it bothers them. It only
takes a few minutes. But to avoid this, you mix 1 part oil with 5 parts turpentine. That is 1:5.
For example, in the case of a dog weighing 10 kilos, mix 2 drops of coconut or olive oil with
10 drops of turpentine and put it on the animal's back.
Remember that this is already the maximum dose, but you will never start with the full
dose. In the case of a 10 kg dog, you start with only 1/5 of the maximum dose.
In other words, only 2 drops of turpentine. And so as not to have to be so precise with the
calculation of the oil, we simply put 1 drop of coconut or olive oil.
This is done 4 days in a row. But each day, the dose is increased:
This dose of every 7 to 10 days is recommended for the lifetime of the dog, for maintenance
purposes.
Oral doses (with food) are recommended instead of the topical applications after the initial 4
to 5 doses.
