INTRODUCTION

In order to survive humanity, there are three fundamentals are very crucial every day, life of
individuals such as foods, shelter and clothes. Man depends on what nature can give, and it will
use only, human doing job moderately. One of the most essential resources of man is soil. It is
where crops were raised and cultivated. It’s also where life begin. As time goes by, humans
have already developed planting crops strategy or farming method. They have already made
and developed farm equipment and farm implement. They have also developed both organic
and inorganic chemicals to be applied as fertilizer of the plant or as a pest controller as well.
These chemicals are crucial in order to have a faster and better crop production.

However, despite of the richness of chemical like a fertilizer, pesticide and insecticide that
can be used in managing or controlling pest and also fertilizer for the plant to grow well. And
aside from the natural phenomenon such as flood and drought it serves totally damage the
agricultural plant. Pest attack is one of the worst problems that farmers are facing. But due to
the high possible risk that might cause to human health of using such inorganic pesticide and
inorganic fertilizer. That’s why it is not advisable to use in farming.

Nowadays, organic farming is being promoted it is safe and low costs type of farming. That is
also good for environment and most of all the human health. Moreover, this activity is an Agro-
Ecosystem Analysis (AESA) this will be conducted by student. The student will be going to the
rice farm as the area to be conducted to analyze and actually observe the rice farm. This will be
documented while conducting an observation. An AESA is a kind of ecosystem analysis that can
help farmers in making decisions on what they do or to know the appropriate action in
controlling pest and the proper care of their farm as well.

OBJECTIVES :

1. To identify the different kinds of living organism present in that particular farm,

2. To know the disease present on that particular farm, and to

3. To know the intensity of disease.

TIME AND PLACE:

This study will be conducted at the University of Eastern Philippines, Pedro rebadulla Memorial
Campus (UEPPRMC), Catubig N. Samar at agriculture department

MATERIALS AND METHOD

The materials been used are the following;

* One piece of notebook

* Ballpen

* Flag lets as a marker

* Crayons, and;

* Pencil

Procedure:

The student will proceed to the selected site or rice farm the where observations to be
conducted. The area will be in . The choose 10 plants in a row and have been a subject of the
observations, each plant being selected will be observed properly and to be analyzed carefully.
The student will be recorded all the data that is needed and other important details.

DATA TO BE GATHERED

* Plant health condition

* Number of leaves

* Number of pests presents

* Percentage of weeds present including its height

* Total number of leaves affected by some diseases

* Record the total numbers of defenders that are present

* Soil condition and its type
