ARTICLE ONE
CONSTITUTION DECLARATION
PREAMBLE
WE, THE STUDENTS of MAU Yola, under the umbrella of the Faculty of
Environmental Sciences Students Association HAVING firmly and solemnly
resolved to live in peace and harmony, and to be governed and represented as a
subunion, for the purpose of collective uplift, solidarity, welfarism and intellectual
development, in•espective of Our race, color- religion and ethnic background for
the betterment of this citadel of learning;
HEREBY PROVIDE for a Constitution for the purpose of promoting the good
representation and welfare of all FESSA Students on the minciple of Freedom,
Equity and Justice.

May GOD help us.


GENERAL PROVISIONS
Supremacy of the constitution

ARTICLE TWO
Section 1:
NAME, MOTTO AND LOGO OF THE UNION
l. The Union shall be known as Faculty Of Environmental Science Students Association (in
this constitution referred to as FESSA).
2. The motto of the Union shall be "CREATING A SUSTAINABLE
EVNIRONMENTS".
3. The logo of Union (as shown on the title page of this Constitution)
4. Supremacy subject to statut01Y enactment as well as laws, rules and regulations
that the Dean, the Senate and all other agents of the Modibbo Adama University
Yola may make, this constitution shall be supreme to all other constitutions of the
departments under the faculty.

ARTICLE rmEE Section
2:
AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE UNION
(l) The aims and objectives of the Union shall be as follows:
a) To promote the educational development of her members.
b) To promote the social, intellectual, academic and cultural activities of her
members.
c) To promote and protect the image of the Faculty.
d) To promote harmonious relationship among the Students, the Faculty
management at all levels in order to produce a conducive environment for
students' activities.

ARTICLE FOUR
Section 3:
OFFICERS OF THE UNION AND THEIR FUNCTIONS
There shall be a Faculty' Executive Council (FEC) for the Union.

OFFICERS OF THE FEC I.


The FEC shall comprise of the following elected officers:
a. President
b. Vice-President
c. General Secretary
d. Assistant General Secretary
e. Public Relations Officer
f. Welfare Director
g. Financial Secretao,'
h. Treasurer
i. Sports Director
j. Social Director
k. Auditor General
l. Health Director.

A. The President shall:
a. Be the head of the Faculty Executives Council (FEC)
b. Serves as a link between the Union, the Faculty as well as the school.
c. Coordinate and harmonize the activities of FEC. d, Convene and preside over
meetings of the FEC.
e. Have power to give directives to any extent to the FEC on matters relating to the
Union in line with the provisions of this Constitution.
f. Have no vote at FEC meetings, except in the case of a tie where his/her vote
shall the deciding vote.
g. Be held liable for any acts of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.
h. Be the principal signatory of the Faculty account.

B. The Vice President


a. Assist the president in the performance of duties.
b. Act in the capacity of the President in his/her absence.
c. Carry out other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.
d. Be the chairman of Academic Committee.
e. Be held liable for any acts of omission or commission that may arise In the
execution of his/her duties.

C. The General Secretary shall:


a. Be the head administrative officer of the FEC
b. Take and keep record ofminutes of FEC meetings.
c. In consultation with the President, receive, treat and send correspondence on
behalf of the FEC.
d. Be the custodian of the Union library and keep proper stock inventory.
e. On the instmction of the President, call for meetings of the FEC.
f. Carry out other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.
g. Be held liable for any act of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.

D. The Assistant General Secretary shall:-


a. Assist the General Secretary in the performance of his/her duties.
b. Act in the capacity of the General secretary in his/her absence.
c. Carry Out Other duties as may have been directed by the FEC or the provisions
of this Constitution.
d. Be held liable for any act ofomission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.

E. Public Relations Officer (PRO) shall:

a. Be the mouth piece of the Union.
b. Be responsible for the proper dissemination of information to members of the
Union as relating to the Union.
c. Prepare press release ofthe Union activities with the approval of the FEC.
d. Be responsible for the production and distribution of the Union's Publications.
e. With the approval of the FEC, call a Press Conference at least once a semester.
f. Be the custodian of all audio-visual instruments of the Union and maintain stock
inventory.
g. Carry Out Other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.
h. Be held liable for any act of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.

F. The Welfare Director


a. Be responsible for the welfare of the Union members.
b. Ensure that the faculty environment is conducive and healthy for learning.
c. Supervise and manage:
i. The Union Shops
d. Monitor the use of all the Union properties and facilities under the approval of
the FEC.
e. Carry out Other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.
f. Be held liable for any act of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.

G. The Financial secretary shall:


a. Be the Financial Officer of the Union
b. Maintain book of account and transactions of the Union.
c. In conjunction with other members of the FEC, prepare the budget of the FEC.
d. Publish the Union's statement of account every month.
e. Carry out Other duties as may have been directed by the FEC or the provisions
of this Constitution.
f. Be held liable for any act of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution or his/her duties.
g. Be a Signatory in the FESSA account.

H. The Treasurer shall:


a. Keep all money of the FEC.
b. Deposit all monies in the Union's bank accounts within 48hrs of collection.
c. Be the custodian of the cheque books and vouchers of FESSA Account and
Carry out other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.

d. Be held liable for any act of omission or comrmssion that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.
e. Be a Signatory in the FESSA account.

I. The Sports Director Shall:


a. Coordinate all sports activities of the Union
b. Be in charge of all Union's sport equipment's and devices.
c. Represent the Union in any sport activity within and outside the University.
d. Be the automatic student representative in the University's Sports Council.
e. Carry out other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.
f. Be held liable for any act of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties.
J. The Social Director shall:
a. Organize and coordinate all social and cultural activities of the Union.
b. Carry out other duties as may be directed by the FEC or the provisions of this
Constitution.
c. Be held liable for any act of omission or commission that may arise in the
execution of his/her duties
d. Conduct the registration of all sub unions within the faculty.

K. Auditor General Shall:


a. Preferable be a student of a relevant professional department
b. Be the chairman of audit committee
e. Audit the account of the union at least every two-month interval and fonvard the
report to the assembly in two copies
d. Expose corruption, inefficiency or leakage in the disbursement or administration
of union funds
e. The auditor general is to submit a copy of audited report to faculty officer/staff
adviser of the Faculty

J. Health Director.
(a) Ensure that the health and safety of all members is safeguarded.
(b) Co-ordinate with relevant University organs to ensure that there are adequate
Medical and health facilities for all members.
(c) Ensure an efficient environmental sanitation within the faculty.
(d) Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Excos

ARTICLE FIVE
RIGHTS OF MEMBERSHIP
Section 6: REGISTRATION
Every member of the Union shall:

(1) Subject to the provisions of decree No. 47 of 1989, membership shall be opened
to all matriculated and registered student
(2) All students shall pay at the beginning of the session a registration fee as may
from time to lime be stipulated by the executives or an interim govemment as
the case may be.
(3) All members are entitled to vote and be voted for to any post of their interest on
satisfying the provisions of the constitution.
(4) All members are allowed to join any registered clubs, societies and association
within the university
(5) Be entitled to participate in Congress, organized meetings and functions of the
Union.
(6) Have the right to information as it relates to the Union.
(7) Be entitled to the Students' Union Package which shall include but not limited
to the Union Identification Card and a copy of the Faculty Of Environmental
Science Constitution.
(8) Have other rights as may be determined by the Union from time to time.

ARTICLE SIX
POWER OF THE UNION
Section 4:
1. DUTIES OF THE FEC The
FEC shall:
a. Organize and coordinate activities of the Union.
b. Initiate policies and projects in line with the aims and objective of the Union..
c. Be the custodian ofthe Union's properties.
d. Represent the Union in all matters relating to the Union within and outside the
University.
e. Publish the statement of account of the Union at least once a month.
f. Hold meetings with departmental Presidents and General Secretaries under the
faculty at least once a month on the affairs of the Union.
2. All activities of the FEC that requires capital expenditure must get the approval
of the FEC members before implementation.

Section 5:
DEPARTMENTAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (DEC)
Establishment and Officers or the DEC

Establishment of the DEC


l. There shall be a Departmental Executive Council for each
department. Duties of DEC 1. The DEC shall:
a. Coordinate and organize all activities of the departmental association.
b. Initiate policies and projects relating to the association and its members.
c. Represent the association in any activity relating to the association within and
outside the University.
Officers of DEC
1. The officers of the DEC shall be:
a. Senators
b. Departmental executives Section 6:
Call for Congress
1. A Congress shall be called only by-
a. President of the EEC.
b. a written request by the President of the faculty or
c. a written request to the President of the faculty by at least 2/3 members of the
Union that cut across not less than half of the departments under the faculty in
the University.
2. The President of the FEC shall preside over the Congress until the appointment
of a Congress chairman.
3. In case of Constitutional matters, The Speaker of the SUG shall preside.

Section 7:
Composition of the Congress
1. The Congress shall comprise of all members of the Union

Sections:
Quorum of Congress
1. The Quorum of a Congress shall not be less than 2/3 of the members of the
Union that cut across the departments under the faculty in the University.

ARTICLE SEVEN
PATRON/MATRON- QUALIFICATION, TENURE, REMOVAL OR
RESIGNATION.

Section 9:
PATRON/MATRON
(1) The Patron shall be: the Dean Faculty of Environment Sciences.
(2) The appointment shall be communicated in writing. (3) The
appointment of a patron shall stand terminated:
a. Exit of the office
b. If he dies while in office or
c. At the date when his resignation as Patron/Matron takes effect.

ARTICLE EIGHT
FINANCIAL MATTERS
Powers and Control over Union Funds
Section 10: Financial Year
1. Financial year shall be a whole academic session which shall begin from the date
of inauguration of a new administration to another.

Section 11: Sources of Union Funds


l. The Sources of Union Funds shall include but not limited to:
a. Departmental Dues
b. Gifts/Donations
c. Any other sources as may be determined from time to time.

Section 12: Union Accounts


1. The Union shall operate one current bank accounts with the name:
FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES STUDENTS
ASSOCIATION (FESSA) Account.
2. The Account shall be with a reputable bank in NigeHa within or around the
school premises subject to the ratification of the FEC.

Section13:

FESSA Account
1. The FESSA Account shall be the only Account of the Union.
2. All monies generated from all the sources of funds mentioned in this section of
this Constitution and otherwise shall be paid directly into the FESSA account.

3. All monies in the FESSA account, except the union dues, shall be distributed
monthly among the FEC and Standing Committees according to the provisions
of section of this Constitution (also known as allowances)
4. The signatories to the account shall be the President of the Union, and the
Financial Secretary of the Union.
5. For any withdrawal from this account, the President of the Union,neither the
Treasurer or the Financial Secretary must sign the cheque.
6. Every withdrawal shall be approved by either the Staff adviser/Faculty Officer or Dean.

Section 14: Disbursement of Union Funds


Sharing Formula
1. All funds in the FESSA account generated from sources mentioned in the section
of this Constitution. shall be distributed among the FEC and Standing Committees
according to the following sharing formula:
a. FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES STUDENTS
ASSOCIATION (FEC) 70%
b. STANDING COMMITTEES —
la. The union dues shall be distributed only among the FEC, According to the
following sharing formula;
a. FESSA PROJECTS -50%
b. DEPARTMENTAL PROJECT 20%

Section 15:Allocation of union dues


1. 30% Of the dues Shall be allocated to the STANDING COMMITTEES..
2. 15% of the dues shall be allocated to the EXECUTIVES or CARETAKER
COMMITTEE members
3. 5% for soft loans to students under the faculty..
4. After the allocation of the percentage mentioned in subsection (1) of this section.
the remaining fund shall have distributed among the FEC, for the honorarium
of their respective members according to the provision of section 79 (2) Of this
constitution.

Section 16: Payment into separate accounts


1. All funds in the FESSA account must be shared according to the sharing
formula after examination Of the account by the FEC
2. On no account should any money be paid or diverted into accounts of any office
holder, member or employee of the Union.

Section 17: Allowance and Travels

(A) In the events of any official of the umon visiting other campuses or institution
outside Yola on official assignment, he shall be entittled to allowances as
approved by the FEC from time to time.
(B) On return from assignment outside this university, Union official(s) concerned
shall give, within 3 days of their return a statement of expenditure/claims
supported by bills to the financial secretary.
(C) Official(s) travelling out on assignment outside the university shall be financed by
the union.

Section 18: Financial Regulations Issuance


of Receipts
1. Whenever any money is paid to the FESSA account in the form of cash, cheque,
draft, money order, postal or through any Other means. receipt shall be written
in duplicate by the Financial secretary.
2. The original receipt shall be issued to the person whom the money is received
from and the duplicate shall have kept by financial Secretary for accounting
and auditing purposes.
3. The receipts shall be numbered serially and issued in that order.
4. Bank tellers shall be obtained for all Union's bank accounts on all deposits
weekly.

Custodian of Books of Account


l. The cheque book of the FESSA account shall be in the custody of the Treasurer.

ARTICLE NINE
ELECTORAL ACT, 2023

Section 19: OFFICERS OF THE ELECTORAL COMMITTEE.


1. (1) The Electoral Committee Shall have the following Officers; (a) The
Chairman.
(b) The Secretary.
(c) The Treasurer.
(d) The Public Relation Officer, (e) The Logistics Officer.
(f) The Welfare officer, and any other officer as may be required for the diligent
discharge of their responsibilities.
Section 20: OATH OF NEUTRALITY BY ELECTORAL OFFICERS.
2. (1) All members or officer of the committee shall affirm or swear to an
Oath of Neutrality set out in the first schedule to this Act.

(2) Any officer who acts contrary to this section may be liable to a fine not
below the sum of N 10,000 and a ban from all Union duties, either
appointive or elective upon conviction by the Adhoc Committee or
University.
Section 21: ELECTIONS AND INCIDENTAL MATTERS.
PRE-ELECTION.
ELECTORAL REGULATIONS.
(1) The FESSA ELETORAL COMMITTEE Shall have power to draw up Electoral
Regulations as it seems fit subjects to the provisions ofthe FESSA Constitution and
this Act.
Section 22: NOTICE OF ELECTIONS.

(1) of
The Committee shall not later than 1 week (seven days) before the day their
Election under this Act publish a notice in all constituencies:
(a) A lift of ban on all campaigns.
(b) Stating the date of commencement of sales of forms
(c) Appointment and stating the place and/or persons at/to which nominations, forms
(application form) are to be delivered or submitted.
(d) Stating expressly the time frame for the submission of the nomination forms.
(e) Stating the period of screening.
(f) Stating the date of the elections.

Section 23: Vacant Post and Bye Election


1 In the case of bye-election, the Electoral Committee shall, not later than two weeks
(14) days after inauguration, publish a notice stating the date of the election to fill the
vacant position/constituency.
2 The Committee shall announce to the public any changes in the election
timetable; forty-eight hours (48) hours prior to the initial fixed date, published
on notice boards across all departments or online platfonns (YM1atsApp,
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and any other online platfonn the committee
may choose to adopt for the dissemination of information).

Section 24: SUBMISSION OF NOMINATION FORMS AND DOCUMENTS BY


CANDIDATES.
(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, every candidate shall submit the
nomination form and any other documents or information as may be
required by the Committee for the elections to the authorized place and
person.
(2) Any member of the union may apply to the committee for a copy of the
nomination forms and any other document submitted by a candidate at an
election and the committee shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee not
more than a thousand Naira, issue such person with a certified copy of
document within 2days, provided such application is made at least 5 days
before commencement of the election.
(3) Any member of the union who has reasonable grounds to believe that any
information given by any candidate in any document submitted by that
candidate is false may file a suit at the High Court of MODIBBO ADAMA
UNIVERSITY, YOLA Students Judicial Council against such candidate
seeking a declaration that the information contained in the said document
is false.

Section 25: Publication Of Candidates.


1. Committee shall, at least 2days before the day of the election publish by
displaying or causing to be displayed on the notice board across all departments
or online platforms (WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and any other
online platform the Committee may choose to adopt for the dissemination of

information), a statement of the full names and levels of all candidates
contesting elections into the Faculty Executive Council.

Section26: Withdrawal Of Candidate.


(1) A Candidate may withdraw his candidature voluntarily, not later than 3 days
before the elections, by notice in writing signed by him and delivered by
himself to committee.

(2) A candidate is deemed to have withdrawn from elections if he fails to submit


his nomination forms within the stipulated date.
(a) Acts in contrary of the FESSA Union Constitution, this Act or the Electoral
Regulations set by the committee.
(b) After the time for the delivery of nomination fonns and before the
commencement of the election, a candidate dies, such candidate stands
withdrawn from the election.
Section 27: Election Constituencies.
1. Each department shall be recognized as an Election Constituency.

Section 28: Mode OfE1ection.


(1) Subject to the Provisions of this Act and for the protection of public interest
and peace, the Electoral committee shall, in all Union elections, adopt the; (a)
Electronic voting system; or (b) Open-secret ballot system.
Section 29: Eligibility To Voters,
(l) Subject to MAU SUG Constitution and this Act, only duly matriculated full time
students shall be eligible to vote in any elections of the union.

Section 30: Eligibility To Contest.


(1) Subject to FESSA Constitution and the provision of this Act, all duly
matriculated students of the faculty shall be eligible to contest in any election.
(2) An aspirant must have registered for at least one academic session.

Section 31: Prerequisite To Contest


(1) Any aspirants contesting for any Position in the FEC must have a Cumulative
Grade Point Average (CGPA) of not less than 2.5.
(2) An aspirant must have not been convicted of any crime by a court of Law, found
to be a member of secret cult, guilty of election malpractices or financial
misappropriation.
(3) An aspirants contesting for any Position in the Union must be a student running
the prescribed normal years for his/her course of study,
(4) Any Aspirants Contesting for the post of President must have been in the University
for not less than two(2) Academic Session and for those on industrial attachment must
defer or conduct his/her industrial attachment within the Campus.
(5) In addition to section 19(1) to (4) of this Act, an aspirant contesting for the
position of the President, and the General Secretary in the Union must have
served in any capacity at any level in the department or FESSA

(1) of
(6) In addition to section 19(1) to (4) of this Act, aspirants for the post of Treasurer
must be a female.
(7) In addition to section 19(4) to (4) of this Act, aspirants for the post of Treasurer
and financial Secretary must have knowledge of book keeping, accounting and
budgetary control.
(8) Aspirants for the position of Sport Director must be:
(a) a certified sports person who has actively participated in sports activities
within and outside the University.
Section 32: Election Campaigns.
All forms of Campaign by Aspirants shall be well-managed and devoid any
harassment, intimidation, violence and contradiction to the provision of the FESSA
Constitution and this Act.
(2) Campaign shall not in any way constituted nuisance or defamation of any
member of the union.
(3) All campaigns must not commence until the committee has lifted the ban.
(4) Poster or any form of campaign or awareness shall not be pasted on walls but
restricted to notice boards and billboards. (5) Campaigns train with music or any
form of singing and dancing shall not be taken near classrooms, offices and
laboratories.

Section 33: Notice Of Poll.


The Committee shall, not later than 14 days before the date set for the election,
cause to be published, in such manner as it may seem fit, a notice specifying; (a)
The day and time fixed for the poll.
(b) The persons entitled to vote; and
(c) The location of the polling units.

Section 34: Polling Agents.


(1) No candidate shall have more than one polling agent in each polling unit.
(2) The polling agent of a candidate would be made known to the committee through
the Secretary on submission of the application form or in a written form a day
before the commencement of the elections.
(3) The candidate's agents are allowed to be at the polling from stan to finish of the
elections with their boundaries prescribed by the Committee.
(4) It is unlawful for any candidate's agent to canvas for votes for a candidate in any
form on such a day in the performance of their duty except holding a means of
identification.

Section 35: Conduct At Polling Units.


(1) The Chairman and the members of the committee shall regulate the admission
of voters to the polling umts and shall exclude all persons other than the
candidates, polling agents and the persons lawfully entitled to be admitted
including accredited observers.

(2) The Chairman may order a person to be removed from a polling unit who
behaves in a disorderly manner or fails to comply with a lawful order.
(3) The Provisions of subsection (2) of this section shall not be enforced so as to
prevent a voter who is otherwise entitled to vote at a polling unit from having
an opportunity of so voting.
(4) In accordance to the provision of this section, in the absence of the Chairman,
members of the committee shall give directives in respect of a polling unit on
the directive of the chairman.
(5) Any person who acts in anyway contrary to the rules guiding the conduct of the
election may be handed over to security agent.
(6) The Committee shall keep order and comply with the provision of this Act at
the polling units.
Section 36: Accreditation Of Voters.
(l) All voters must be properly accredited by an electoral officer before they are allowed to
vote.

(2) Accreditation of voters shall be by the use of the school identification Card or
any other documents that identifies a voter as a bonafide student of his
department under the faculty.
(3) A voter would not be allowed to vote if such voter's studentship is not verifiable.

Section 37: Duration Of Voting.


(1) The duration of election shall not exceed five (5) hours.
(2) All voting shall be in-between 8:00am and 2:00pm.

Section 38: Ballot Papers.


If the open secret ballot is adopted;
(l) The ballot papers must carry the names/nickname of the aspirant as contained in
their nomination form.
(2) The committee must provide sufficient numbers of ballot papers so as not to
disenfranchised some voters.
(3) The number of ballot papers to be taken to each polling unit must be announced
before the commencement of voting.
(4) The number of ballot papers to be taken to each polling unit shall not exceed the
total number of students eligible to vote in that constituency.
(5) In the case of Electronic Voting, the provision of subsection (1) of the foregoing
provision shall be complied with, including the image of the candidates.

Section 39: Election Observers.


(1) Election observers from the Faculty management, religious organizations or any other
body or Persons, subject to the approval of the committee shall be allowed during the
election.
(2) Election observers shall comport themselves during election and shall not
contravene any provision of the electoral regulations, the Electoral Act and the
FESSA Constitution.

Section 40: Polling Units.
(1 ) There shall be one polling unit cited in each constituency of the Faculty.
(2) A polling Unit shall be cited at a conspicuous location where every voter shall
have easy access to the unit.
(3) Notice at polling Units shall be pasted conspicuously for all voters to read.
(4) Physically challenged voters shall be assisted to vote only by an electoral officer.
(5) Any ballot paper that does not contain official signature, stamp or seal of the
committee shall be void and not counted for any aspirants.
Section 41: Closing Of Poll.
(1) At the prescribed hours for the close of poll, the chairman shall declare the poll
closed and no more person(s) shall be admitted into the polling unit and only
those already inside the polling unit shall be allowed to vote.
(2) After the declaration of the close of polls no voter already inside the polling unit shall
be permitted to remain in the polling unit unless otherwise authorized under this Act.

Section 42: Declaration Of Winners.


(1) Election results shall be made public at every polling unit at the end of counting.
The final results of the election shall only, be declared by the Chaiman the
committee.
(3) In the absence of the Chairman, any other member of the committee delegated
with such responsibility by the chairman either orally or in writing shall declare
the result.

Section 43: Publication Of Election Results.


(1) The results of elections shall be pasted on all notice boards and sent to various
departments.
(2) The Committee shall publish, a notice online and on notice boards showing the
candidates at the election and their scores; and the person declared as elected or
returned in the election at most 72 hours after the conclusion of election.

ARTICLE 10
MISCELLANEOUS AND SUPPLEMENTAL.

Section 44: Standing Committees:


The following committees shall be used as Standing committees of the union:
(1) Sport committee
(2) Academic committee
(3) Finance committee
(4) Welfare committee
(5) Business committee
(6) Audit committee

Section 45: Oath Of Office.


( l) The Oath of office shall be administered by the Chairman electoral committee
(2) In the absence of the Chairman electoral committee the logistics shall administer
the Oath of Office.

Section 46: Certificate Of Return.


(1) A Certificate of Return in a prescribed forni shall be issued within 7 days to
every candidate who has won an election under this Act.

Section 47: Post-Election Disputes.


All Post-election disputes including but not limited to issue of election malpractice
and declaration of false results shall be referred to the Election Petition Tribunal.

Section 48: Access To Election Documents.


(1) The Secretary of the committee shall within 2 days, after an application is made
to him, by any of the parties to an election petition, cause such documents or
the certified true cop thereof, to be issued to the said Party.
(2) If the Secretary' willfully fails to comply with the provisions in sub section.

(1) above, he shall be guilty ofan offence and shall be liable on conviction
to a maximum fine ofN5,000.

Section 49: Interpretation.


The Students Representative Assembly shall have the power to interpret this Act.

Section 50: Citation


This Act may be cited as FACULTY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES
STUDENTS ASSOCIATION Electoral Act, 2023 extracted from the Student
Union Government constitution.

September, 2023 and adopted on the 2023.Under the leadership of
