Part 1. PROJECT PLAN
A. Project name: Revitalizing Drainage: A Comprehensive Approach from Marawoy to
Sabang
B. Project Location: Barangay Marawoy and Sabang Lipa City
C. Project Scope:

1. Purpose of the subject

The purpose of revitalizing a drainage system is to improve its functionality and resilience, particularly in
the face of challenges such as climate change and urban development. It can be seen that most of the
drainage need fixing in the place, considering that during rainy season the place is flooded. And this can
involve various measures such as cleaning, maintenance, and infrastructure upgrades to ensure effective
water management and reduce its risk of flooding the area. Revitalization efforts may also incorporate
green infrastructure and sustainable drainage solutions to enhance environmental quality and biodiversity.
Overall, the goal is to optimize the performance of the drainage system and minimize its impact on the
surrounding area.

Here are the a few more purpose:

 Improve water management: Revitalization aims to enhance the performance of drainage systems,
ensuring effective water management and reducing the risk of flooding
 Address climate change and urban development challenges: Revitalizing drainage systems can
help adapt to changes in precipitation and runoff conditions
 Promote sustainable and green infrastructure: Revitalization efforts can incorporate green
infrastructure and sustainable drainage solutions to enhance environmental quality and
biodiversity
 Enhance community engagement and education: Revitalized drainage systems can be designed to
provide educational opportunities and promote community engagement
 Support urban development and active transportation planning: Revitalization can combine
stormwater treatment, climate mitigation, active transportation planning, and ecological education
and informing resilient urban watershed management
 Adapt to climate change and anticipate future challenges: Revitalizing drainage systems can help
anticipate and address potential issues related to climate change, such as increased flooding
Overall, revitalizing a drainage system serves to optimize its performance, minimize its impact on the
surrounding area, and promote sustainable and resilient water

2. Project background

A place without proper drainage system can experience several negative effects. A few samples of this of
this are soil erosion, and over watering which can lead to rot and disease in plants and trees. Flooding is
also a negative effect that could cause foundation and structural damage, heaving sidewalks, insect and
rodent infestations, mold growth and wood rot. The Marawoy to Sabang road has been experiencing these
negative effects and this has led to multiple problems affecting the people and the transportation in the
area. Overall, a poor drainage system leads to problems that are difficult and costly to fix. The
Management Accounting students provide possible solutions for the occurring problem. As the young
innovators presents the idea of revitalizing the drainage area, providing detailed information and along
with its risks and solutions. In addition, here are several benefits to gain in revitalizing a drainage system:
1. Flood Prevention and Water Management
- Drainage system can prevent flooding and channel excess water from built-up areas,
reducing the risk of property damage, infrastructure disruptions, and potential health
hazards caused by flooding.

2. Improved Water Quality

- Revitalized drainage can help improve water quality by reducing pollutants reaching
water bodies, which is essentials for protecting local water sources and ecosystems.

3. Reduced Infrastructure Damage

- A reliable drainage system can minimize the risk of costly repairs and maintenance
by efficiently redirecting water, thus ensuring the longevity of infrastructure and
leading to long-term saving for communities.

4. Enhanced Aesthetics and Community Satisfaction

- Revitalized drainage systems can enhance the overall appearance and functionality of
an area, leading to increased community satisfaction and property value.

5. Environmental Benefits
- Natural drainage systems can promote sustainable agriculture and incorporate more
trees and green space into the barangay, leading to a positive environmental impact.

In conclusion, the revitalization of drainage systems can lead to range of advantages, including
improved water management, enhanced water quality, reduced infrastructure damage and positive
environmental and community outcome.

Construction Risks could be disruptive to the surrounding area, causing noise, dust and traffic
disruption.
Solution: a regular maintenance and a well-planned implementation could prevent this from
happening. Investing into regular maintenance can prevent accidents from happening in the
construction area. A well-planned implementation minimize the risks in construction and the
traffic disruption.

3. Resource Requirements

To achieve a comprehensive strategy and in order to make the project Revitalizing Drainage: A
Comprehensive Approach of Drainage system from Marawoy to Sabang necessitates careful planning and
budget allocation.
To begin with, a thorough inspection and evaluation of the current drainage system should be
carried out in order to pinpoint its shortcomings and places in need of development. Hiring engineers and
surveyors with drainage system experience may be necessary for this. After that, a project team made up
of experts in their fields, like urban planners, environmental specialists, and civil engineers, should be put
together. These human resources will contribute expertise throughout the planning, implementation, and
monitoring stages of the project.
The building or replacement of drainage components requires material resources. Purchasing
building supplies, drain pipes, and other requirements fall under this category. Funds need to be set aside
for project management, labor, and building expenses, along with a contingency reserve for unanticipated
difficulties that may arise during execution. Investing in tools that will improve the accuracy and
efficiency of the revitalization activities and provide useful data for decision-making throughout the
project lifecycle may be necessary in order to include innovative technologies.
Human resources extend beyond the project team to include skilled labor for construction and ongoing
maintenance activities. Time is a critical resource, and a realistic timeline must be established,
considering the complexity of the project and potential disruptions. Regular monitoring and evaluation,
supported by technological tools and expert input, will require ongoing resources to track progress and
make informed adjustments as needed.
