Course Name The Teacher and The School Curriculum


Course Credit 3 units
Course description This course includes the fundamental concepts and principles in curriculum and curriculum development as a foundation to engage perspective teachers as
curricularists. The more active role of the teacher in planning, implementing and evaluating school-curriculum as well as in the managing school
curriculum change vis-à-vis various context of teaching-learning and curriculum reforms shall be given emphasis.

Course Outcome 1. Demonstrate knowledge of the concepts, theories and principles in curriculum and curriculum development within and/or across curriculum teaching
areas
2. Discuss the different types of curricula existing in schools.
3. Analyze the importance of curriculum and curriculum development within the teacher’s classroom.
4. Understand the teacher’s role as a curriculum designer in both the classroom and the school.
