Tafsir Surah Muhammad (47), verse 1-3

Allah says what translates to mean,
"Those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allh, He will
render their deeds vain; But those who believe and do righteous good deeds,
and believe in that which is sent down to Muhammad, for it is the truth from
their Lord, He will expiate from them their sins, and will make good their
state. That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who
believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allh set forth their
parables for mankind." (Muhammad 47:1-3)
Shaykh 'Abdur Rahman Bin Nasir as-Sa'di, May Allah have mercy upon him, said
about these verses,

These verses include the mentioning of the rewards of the believers, the
punishments of those, who are disobedient to the commands of Allah and His
Messenger, the cause regarding that, and the invitation to the creation to take an
example from that. Therefore, He says what translates to mean,

These individuals are the heads of disbelief, the leaders of misguidance, those who
have combined disbelief in Allah, his allies, and impeding their selves as well as
others from the path of Allah, which it (i.e. the path) is having Emaan in what the
messengers have called to and adhered to.
Thus, these individuals, Allah will render their deeds vain meaning, He will
render their deeds nullified and He caused them to be wretched because of their
actions. This includes their actions, which they have done in order to plot, by
means of their actions, against the Truth as well as the allies of Allah; that Allah
made their plot be thrown back at their necks.
Therefore, they did not reach what they intended in the least. As for their actions,
which they hoped to be rewarded for, then Allah foiled their attempts. The cause of
that is that they had followed falsehood, which is every goal that is not intended, in
it, for the face of Allah pertaining to their worshipping idols, statues; and their
actions, which is in support of falsehood since it was falsehood and since the
actions, its purpose was false.
And as for those who believe in what Allah had revealed to his messengers
in general, and revealed to Muhammad specifically.

and do righteous good deeds according to they had established what is upon
them from the rights of Allah as well as the obligatory and highly recommend
rights of Allah's servants.
{ Z Y X z
Allah will expiate from them their sins their minor as well as their major sins.
When their sins have been expiated then they will be saved from the punishment in
the Dunya' as well as the Hereafter.

And will make good their state meaning, Allah will make good their religion,
their worldly life, their hearts, and their actions. He will make good their reward by
way of His increasing and purification of their actions. He will make good all of
their circumstances; the cause of that is that they follow the truth, which is
Sidq, Yaqeen (i.e. certainty), and whatever this tremendous Quran includes; which
originated from their Lord who nurtured them with His blessings; who
governed them with his subtleness. Therefore, He nurtured them with the Truth;
and they followed and adhered to it, thus their matters became good.
Since their intended goal is related to the Truth, which is ascribed to Allah, Al-Baqee
(i.e. The Eternal), Al-Haqq-ul-Mubeen (i.e. the clear truth), then the means is
righteous and will remain, and their reward will remain.
{ q p o n m l z
Thus does Allh set forth their parables for mankind due to the fact that
He made clear to them the people of good and the people of evil, and mentioned
to everyone among them a characteristic, which they can recognize it and
distinguish.

".So that those who were to be destroyed might be destroyed after a clear
evidence, and those who were to live might live after a clear evidence." (Al-
An'fal 8:42)
