Frequency Adverbs and Time Expressions


1. Time expressions come at the end of the sentences.
* every day todos los días
* every month todos los meses
* every morning todas las mañanas
* every weekend todos los fines de semana
* every afternoon todas las tardes
* every other day cada dos días

Examples:

 I watch tv every day.


 She takes a shower every morning.
 We go to the gym every other day.

2. Frequency adverbs come before the main verb in the sentences.

* always siempre
* generally generalmente
* usually usualmente
* often a menudo
* sometimes a veces
* rarely rara vez
* seldom raramente
* hardly ever casi nunca
* never nunca

Examples:

 I always watch tv.


 She generally takes a shower in the mornings.
 We never go to the gym.

3. Other frequency adverbs are:


* once (a day, a month) una vez
* twice (a week, a day) dos veces
* several times (a day) varias veces
* many times (a day,…) muchas veces en el día
* many times (a week) muchas veces a la semana
* many times (a month) muchas veces en el mes

Examples:
 I watch tv once a week.
 She takes a shower several times a day.
 We go to the gym many times a month.
