A Bill To Define The School Week Length
A Bill To Define The School Week Length
Senator Lowry
Dear Congressmen, I'm here to discuss why the bill to define the school's Week length
should not be passed. Please hear me out.
This bill will mandate that schools that teach four days a week will change and teach 5
days a week. I know students need more time to learn. But 800 School districts
participate in only having a four-day school week. So if we change this, it would not only
affect the schedule but also the students by changing their routine and putting more stress
on them with the extra day.
A: Using this schedule the impact has changed for a good reason. Here is what the New
York Times stated” The researchers write that they find no statistically significant
evidence of detrimental four-day school week achievement impacts, and even some
positive impacts” for minority students, lower-income students, special education
students, students enrolled in English as a Second Language programs and students who
scored
B: Knowing this we can help our students in the United States. Our Students can have
less stress and focus on their education. Studies have shown that four-day school weeks
give a long weekend to students so they can rest and engage in extracurricular activities
which will lead to better attendance during the week. This can lead to a better
performance.
