The Tejeros Convention was held on March 22, 1897 at San Francisco de Malabon, Cavite, berween the
Magdiwang
and Magdalo factions of the Katipunan. A disagreement between Mr. Severino de las Alas and Andres Bonifacio
prompted General Apoy to intervene.

The disagreement was finally settled by Trinidad Jose Rizal's sister, and his widow, Andres Bonifacio and Duniel
Tirono had a misunderstanding, forcing the former to point his revolver towards the latter. Bonifacio prodaimed
the the convention's proceedings null and void and exited hastily. At Terujos, President Baldomens Aguinaldo
sought a meeting of reconciliation.

In Cavite, the Katipunan is divided into two factions: Magdalo and Magdiwang. Bonifacio was
summoned to his battlegrounds of Montalban and Mariquina to mediate the Magdalo-Magdiwang
schism Esteban San Juan encouraged them to join him in a parade around Imus, which he did. With
both parties increasingly diridal against one another, a convention assembly was held in Imus to try
to reconcile the schism between the two sides. The meeting was postponed when no tangible
outcomes were obtained.

While the Mazdalo fought the Spanish, the Magdiwang convened another meeting The election has
taken place.

Daniel Tirona protested to Jose del Rosatio being elected as better officer. Bonifacio threatened
Tirona with a rifle. The election was declared null and void Bonifacio wrote to his uncle-in-law Matiano
Alvarez, expressing his dissatisfaction with how he was treated during the assembly. He also wrote to
Emilio Jacinto, expressing his opposition to the idea of forming a new government.

The Tejeros Convention tells us the historical event happened between
the conflicts of Magdiwang and Magdalo troops. Supremo Andres
Bonifacio has the authority to nullify the proceedings if conditions were
not met and one of which is the opposition to stand against the majority;
which Daniel Tirona has done. Bonifacio teaches the importance of
standing firm and implying principles in truth.

The disputes then, is still evident today in political settings. If we allow the
events that happened at Tejeros to teach us the importance of
understanding, cooperation, and unity, we may have been living in a more
organized society today. May we not go back to the times when fellow
Filipinos hurt Filipinos leading us to build barriers. We are free, thus, act
like it.
