REVIEW TEXT OF MR QUEEN

Introduction

Mr Queen is a South Korean drama series that was released on December 12, 2020. Played by Shin Hye
Sun and Kim Jung Hyun as the main characters. This drama was written by a famous South Korean
writer, Park Kye Ok and directed by Yoon Suk Sik. Consist of 20 episodes and has a high rating up to
17,4% based on Nielsen Korea. In the process, Mr Queen was produced by the famous production,
marketing and distribution company in South Korea, namely Studio Dragon Corparation.

Evaluation

The korean drama series Mr Queen tells the story of a chef at the South Korean state palace ( Blue
House ), Jang Bong Hwan, who is trapped into the body of a queen in the Joseon dynasty era named
Queen Kim So Yong. This romantic comedy genre drama invites laughter because of the funny behavior
of the queen who has a male soul in her body. How not, a queen who should be gentle, feminime and
also beautify herself actually shows are barbaric soul that makes the feminime impression of a queen
disappear instantly.

Interpretation

I never thought that a drama with a royal backround would be so enjoyable that it drains emotion for
anyone who watches it. The first and second episodes Mr Queen attracted my full attention as a viewer
to want to follow this drama without waiting for it to end first. At first, I thought Mr Queen will only be
funny in the early episodes to grab the audience's attention and turn serious in the with the middle to
the end. However, the prejudice broke it self along with the journey to follow the drama every week.
Not only that, contemporary elements ranging form the food menu, Kim So Yong's vocabulary, to thing
like food delivery services that are brought and adapted to the Joseon era become fresh jokes in every
episode.

My great appreciation goes to the entire team and Mr Queen Players. The right casting process coupled
with the sucess of the players bringing their respective characters to life is an added value for this
drama.

Summary / Conclusion

Mr Queen will be a drama that I will recommend to those of you who are looking for Saeguk drama with
a light, funny, and romantic theme. Try it, I guarantee you will lought out loud every episode. Altough
the comedy genre, the plot in this drama is also full of intrigue. The name is also a story of a colossal
kingdom, of course there are conflicts over power struggles, betrayals, and wars. Are you curious about
the full story? Try watching I guarantee you will laught out loud.
