CHALLENGE 3. NETWORKS
1. Networks are divided according to their size into local personal area (PAN), local area
network (LAN), metropolitan area network (MAN) and wide area network (wan). Briefly
explain each of them.
- LAN: cover specific short-range geographic areas (home, house, office…) physical
connections can be made, including printers, routers and other computers. LAN port by
Ethernet or USB.
- MAN: provide connectivity to cities and towns transporting all voice and data traffic
between buildings via its own MAN.
- WAN: is a network existing in a single large geographic region also covers a country or a
group of countries.
