Prayer of Adoration
Prayer of Confession
God of mercy,
we confess that the world around us is in a mess.
Countries turn arguments over territory into threats of terror.
Old enemies stir up conflict within their tribes and nations.
The threat of violence keeps us all on edge.
We are sorry for times when anger or bitterness made us resentful.
We are sorry that the desire to get even turns us from your mercy.
Forgive us for not learning from past conflicts
what leads to peace with justice.
Forgive us, O God, and shine the light of Christ on us,
so that we can know his peace and his purposes for us. Amen
Assurance of Pardon
Sisters and brothers, Holy Scripture says:
“The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
The Lord is good to all and his mercy is over all his works.”

The Collect for Today… Heavenly Lord, you long for the world’s salvation: stir us from
apathy, restrain us from excess and revive in us new hope that all creation will one day

Sermon……………………………………………Bishop Theophilus Rolle
Prayer of Commitment
Prayers of Intercession
Holy God,
you call us to be faithful in our everyday lives,
in times of joy and of sorrow,
in busyness and at rest,
in the simple things and the complicated ones.
Help us to follow you faithfully,
to seek your guidance and strength,
and to believe even when you feel far away.
Creator God,
the world is your gift and our home.
Give us determination and courage
to live kindly and gently on the earth.
Forgive our greed; our constant need for more.
We pray for the world’s leaders,
that they will not let us down in their deliberations and decisions.
We pray for young people,
giving thanks for their voices, calling for change;
and that we older humans
will leave them a world that can sustain life,
a world of justice and peace.
