Here are two children, Kate and Sam. Kate is filled with
kindness and wants to be a painter. She makes beautiful
pictures. Sam is helpful and never unkind. He loves to work
with his dad, the farmer. They replace the old barn with a
colorful one.

Affixes are letters or syllables added before or after a word.


By adding affixes, the meaning of the word changes.

2 Main Types of Affixes

Prefixes- are the letters added before the root word.

Suffixes- are the combination of letters added at the end of


a root word.
