INTRODUCTION
Thank you very much for purchasing our Blood Pressure Monitor with PC compatible function. Before
using software, please read through the user manual contents carefully and understand the functions
of software.
CAUTIONS
1. The copyright of this software belongs to our company.
2. The software and user manual cannot be copied without any permission.
3. The specifications of this software and the contents in the manual may be changed without any
notice. You may contact your distributor for the newest software or user manual or visit our
website.
4. Please understand that there may be slight differences between the images shown in the manual
and the actual images obtained by the software.
BEFORE INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE
The package will include the following accessories:
1 CD ROM with software, USB driver and user manual for software operation
I USB Cable(or RS232 Cable if the meter you buy is with RS232 version)
1 User Manual for meter operation

HOW TO INSTALL THE SOFTWARE
Check the computer before software installation or data transmission.
1. YHBPM software can be used for Win98SE/ME/Win2K/XP/2003/Vista 32
2. Use USB cable to connect the Blood Pressure Monitor to the PC. Before connecting, make sure
the Jack is for USB(RS232 Jack can be connected with RS232 cable only.).
(1).Start the installation :
Insert the Software CD, then the following picture will appear on the screen.

STEP 1 Install Software:

A. Click the “Install Software” , then it will start to install the software. Follow the onscreen prompts.
B. Confirm Installation, click “Next”. .

C. After installation, click “OK”. The software CD will be installed successfully.

STEP 2: Install Data Access Components 2.8: If your Windows is older than XP Service Pack 2
such as XP Service Pack 1. 2000 or 98, you will need to proceed the STEP 2 installation.

(2). Open YHBPM software:
After installation completion, YHBPM symbol will appear on the desk automatically. Open the YHBPM
software from your desk.

(3). HOW TO INSTALL USB DRIVER AND CHECK THE COM PORT:
INSTALL USB DRIVER:
Go back to the original picture of software. Click Install USB Driver. Please click CD Autorun and
install Driver. It can be used for Win98SE/ME/Win2K/XP/2003/Vista 32.

After installation, the following view will appear on the screen. If you never installed YHBPM software
and USB driver before, please choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now. Besides, if you have
been plugged cable on PC before installation, please unplug and then plug cable again after you re-
start the computer.

HOW TO FIND THE COM PORT:

FIND THE CORRECT COM PORT :
After installation, go to the Windows “Control Panel” and then click “Administrative Tools”, then
“Computer Management”, then “Device Manager”. You must then expand the “Ports (COM & LPT)”
option in the right-hand window panel in order to check the COM PORT location. You will see the
“Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port” indicated with the name of the COM Port being used, in brackets
at the end. If you wish you can RIGHT click with the mouse on this port name and select “Properties”
to ensure that the device is working properly. The four steps necessary to do this are illustrated on
the next page of the manual and it is important to remember the number of the COM Port indicated
so that data can be transferred from the Blood Pressure Monitor to the computer via the USB cable.
In the example given you will see that it is COM4.

(4). RS232 VERSION OR CHANGE RS232 VERSION TO USB:
1. If your meter is with RS232 Jack and Cable:
USB driver doesn’t need to be installed. Go to the Device Manager to check the COM PORT
directly.

2.If you use a USB to RS232 adapter: If your meter is with RS232 version and you want to
change it to USB version, you can check with the electronics or computer stores to buy the
compatible connector. Then, you will need to check COM PORT like the steps which are listed in
point (3). How to install USB driver and check the COM PORT.

FUNCTIONS INTRODUCTION ON THE MAIN VIEW(SIMPLE VERSION)

When the mouse is moved to the following symbols, they will appear the functions of the symbols
automatically. You can click the icon as well to understand more functions of the software.

HOW CAN THE DATA BE TRANSMITTED TO A PC AND USED?

START TO USE SOFTWARE

1. After installation, open the software from the desk with symbol and click it. The picture

will be appeared as follows:

For the first time use, the user just click OK and then it will enter the main view. Click the icon File

or the symbol for the New User.

 Fill the personal data: Name ‘ Gender and Date Format are compulsory. They need to be filled in
completely. After that, input the password and confirm your new password. Then, click “SAVE”.

CHANGE LOGIN OR PASSWORD:

If you want to change the Password, please refer to the following steps:
CHANGE PASSWORD:

STEP 1: Click the icon of File for user login or symbol . Login in the original name and
password.. Then, click Login. The view will go to the original data.

STEP 2: Set new password and then Confirm your new password.

FORGET THE PASSWORD:

If the password has been forgotten, the user can create new user or delete the software and re-install

the software.
DATA DOWNLOADING AND COM PORT SETTING:
STEP 1: CHECK COMMUNICATION
Before downloading the data, connect the USB cable(if your meter is with RS232 Jack , use RS232

Cable) to the blood pressure monitor and also the PC. Click the Symbol or from the data of
“Read Data”. Click “Check Communication” to see if the Com Port is setting automatically.

If the Com Port is already setting, then, the following view will appear. Just click “OK” for next step.

STEP 2: SET COM PORT

If the Com Port is not setting automatically, the following view will appear for the request of Com Port
Setting.

Choose the Com Port which is found from Device Manager. Please refer to the previous instruction
about ‘FIND COM PORT”. Then, click ‘O.K.”. If the Com Port is setting successfully, it will appear the
following view.

If not, then, check the correct Com Port from the device manager again and repeat the steps.
DATA TRANSMITTION:
Move Mouse to Data Records. If the meter is with single memory zone(for one person use only),
press “T” button of the Meter to transmit data. However, if the meter is with twin memory zones,
press the memory zone(e.g. M1 or M2) button without releasing first and then press “T”
button(around two seconds) to transmit the data.

After transmitting, if it is successfully, the following view will be appeared. Then, click ‘OK”. If not,
check the connector or Com Port to see if it is correctly connected or set.

STEP 2: DATA LIST AFTER DOWNLOADING DATA FROM METER:

After downloading, it will request “If you want to update the database”. If the data want to be
saved, then, click “Ok”. If the “CANCEL” is clicked, then the data will not be saved.

REMARKS:
1. The date code is set from the personal data establishment.
2. If the data are higher than normal, it will be high-lighted by pink color.

ADD MORE DATA INTO THE FILE:

After transmitting data, if you want to add more data in the future, you can follow the steps as
bellows:

Step 1:
Open the old data you already saved and make sure if the USB driver is connected to Meter and PC
correctly. The original data which already saved in the file will appear on the screen.

Step 2: Click Data to read data. Then, click “Check Communication” to see if the Com Port still the
same. If it is, then, it will appear “Connect Successfully”. Click “OK”. Move the mouse to “Data
Records” .

ADD MORE NEW DATA:

Press “T” of Meter, the data transmission will be started. After completion, click “Close” to save data.
Then, the data will be displayed on the table. If the meter is with twin memory zones, it is as same as
the first time to read data. Press the memory zone(e.g. M1 or M2) button without releasing first and
then press “T” button(around two seconds) to transmit the data. After downloading, if the data want
to be saved, then, click OK. If it the “CANCEL” is clicked, then, the data will not be saved.

THE ORDER OF THE DATE CAN BE CHANGED:
The most updated date will be always on the top if the order of the date is never changed manually. If
you want to change it, then, just click “ID”.

(3). WANT TO UNDERSTAND THE DATE OF HIGHEST SYS’ DIA’ MAP AND
PULSE?
The order of SYS’ DIA’ MAP and Pulse can be changed as well if you want to understand the date of
highest SYS’ DIA’ MAP and Pulse. Just click SYS’ DIA’ MAP or Pulse for the order of the highest
measurement.

MORE DATA ON THE TABLE LIST:

Except Systolic’ Diastolic and Pulse, there is a column named “MAP”. This is a special value for

professional use. It means 2 DIA + 1 SYS/3. The value can be shown for the reference of hospitals or
clinics. Please refer to the previous picture.

SAVE DATA BEFORE EXIT

If the data have been changed, e.g. delete or amend, the data may not be saved except you have
been clicked to save data. If you forget to save it, before leaving the software, it will ask “Do you want
to save data and exit”. You will have another chance to save data by clicking “YES”. Or if you don’t
want to save data, you can choose “NO”.

DELETE AND EDIT DATA:

(1).DELETE DATA:
If the user wants to delete data after transmitting, then, highlight the whole row of the data. After that,
press the “Delete” button on the computer keyboard. The whole data will be deleted.

(2).MAKE SURE THE DATA WILL BE DELETED:

(3). EDIT THE ID AFTER DELETING THE DATA:
After deleting the data, the ID order will not be re-organized until you click the symbol of “Update

DataBase” or Save Data from the icon File..

NEW ORDER AFTER DELETING DATA:

After clicking the symbol of “Update DataBase ”, the following view will be appeared. If you
want to save the data, then, click “OK”. The ID will be re-organized.

EXIT:
When user wants to leave the current screen, just click “X” at the right upper hand side of the picture.

TABLE LIST DATA(including save and printing):

1. The Table List Data includes ID, M_DATEM M_TIME, SYS, DIA, MAP and Pulse.
2. If the same data is entered twice or the new data is the same as the existing data, the new data
will not be accepted.
3. Save the list data by excel file or PDF: When you want to save the data by excel or pdf file, click
the symbol of printer. Then, the following picture will be appeared:

 SAVE DATA: The data can be saved by PFD or Excel file.

CHANGE COLOR: You can change color by clicking “select color symbol”. Please refer to the

SAVE GRAPH AND PRINT:

You can save the chart by choosing the save symbol and print. If the graph is saved by this

symbol, It can be saved by two different files. They are png, bmp, jpg,gif, tit and emf.
PRINT PREVIEW: Before printing, you can “preview” the whole page by clicking this symbol .

COPY CHART:
If you want to do some more things, e.g. do some chart book, you can click this symbol at the
lower left hand side of chart view. Then, you may paste it to “Paint”. It can be used in bar chart as
well.

Click the symbol of bar chart . The standard bar chart will appear:

SAVE DATA AND PRINT:
You can save the bar chart and print it out as well.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
(1).ADD ANNOTATION ON THE GRAPH OR BAR CHART: If you want to add annotation into the

chart. You can click the symbol . After adding it, you can save it with your desired file name. If
you don’t want the annotation, just close the chart. It will revert to the original one when you open it
again.

(2). Mark some area of data if the data are too many:
Choose the area on the chart by pressing the left button of mouse until to the area you need. Then,
release the button.

Revert to the original view:
If you want to revert it to the original view after marking the area, please click the mark at the lower
left hand side. It will revert to the original view.

USER MANUAL FOR SOFTWARE:

You can download user manual from CD directly. Please read through the user manual of software
operation before starting using software.

EXIT: Leave the CD when you do not want to use it.
EXPORT DATA TO XML FORMAT
If the user wants to export data by XML format, please click “File” of the main view and
choose “EXPORT XML FORMAT”. Then, the data can be saved by USB flash drive or saved in
the computer or recording it into CD.

IMPORT DATA OF PATIENTS OR USERS INTO THE DATA BANK OF
DOCTOR OR CLINICS OR PRIVATE DATA BANK OR SERVER
The software YHBPM_CD_V11 is designed with Import Data function. Therefore, the patients
or users can export data and save it by XML file. They can send it to the doctor by e-mail or
save it in Flash Drive or any device and bring it to the doctor. The doctor or Clinics or Private
Data Bank is able to build up the patients or users data in their computer to import the data
when they receive them. The steps are as follows:

TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Cannot Install YHBPM:
Please check if there is any older version software of YHBPM. If it is, then, remove the older
version and re-install the new one.
2. Cannot Transmit Data:
(1). Is USB driver installed?
Please check the computer if the USB driver has been installed. If not, open the CD and install the
USB driver.
(2). Is COM Port correct?
If you didn’t choose the Com Port according to the procedure, the Com Port may be incorrect. The
computer will remember the wrong Com Port when you open the software next time. If the data
cannot be transmitted, please check the Device Manager according the correct procedure to find
the correct Com Port. Then, open Data for “COM Port Setting” manually.

3. Data Missing or Strange Data?

Check the user profile to see if the date format is correct and compatible with your computer
system. If not, please correct it. Otherwise, the data may be missing after data transmission.

4. Others:
If your problem is not listed above, please remove the software and re-install the software. After
trying it, if the problem is still existed, please contact your distributor or store you bought.
