Victoria,
Read the associated COMMENTS to this post Re: Property Taxes. They are excellent.
ALL COUNTIES must either have a Charter or be created by the State Legislature.
THEREFORE get the CODES, which apply to the County. It may require some research and asking a lot of
questions, but without an “official” statement of THEIR authority, you are flying blind.
ALWAYS GO TO THE TOP. When a lowly clerk refuses to help you, then DEMAND to see their supervisor.
Eventually you will get to the elected official in charge. When you do that, then present them with the 1817
Notice, which is attached. Edit it to your specific situation.
This basically says that THEY swore an Oath of Office to follow the state and federal constitutions. THEIR ONLY
DUTY IS TO PROTECT YOUR UNALIENABLE RIGHTS. That means, THEY CANNOT MAKE A CLAIM AGAINST YOU,
except unless you injured THEM, which is NEVER the case.
Do a FOIA inquiry and GET THEIR BOND and/or LIABILITY INSURANCE INFORMATION. This includes the Bond or
Insurance Number, name of Bond or Insurance Writer and their contact information, etc. You will be making a
claim against THEIR Bond or Liability Insurance Company – in the amount of the value of your Property – for
violation of your Unalienable Rights.
Every State has state FOIA Rules, so check to see what are yours. A Sample State FOIA Request is attached for
California. You must research the cites for your own State.
Once THEY see that you are a THREAT to THEIR cushy lifestyle, then THEY will get serious about addressing your
DEMANDS.
THE PROBLEM is #3. Because THEY will NEVER admit to making any mistake. THEREFORE BE PREPARED to file a
lawsuit in Federal Court for Deprivation of Rights. This will take an enormous amount of time and energy from
you, but will be worth it in the end, for the lessons that you learn in the process.
On the other hand, the Tax Assessor may see that you are a real threat, and may relent.
