1. LEARNING COMPETENCIES
Task 1: Presentation
Objectives: The activity aims to enable the students to present the internal structure of the earth,
explaining its properties, characteristics and function.
Specifically:
1. Students should demonstrate a clear understanding of their assigned specific layer of the earth;
2. Maintain eye contact with the audience while describing the properties, function and characteristics
of their assigned layer in internal structure of the earth;

Competency: Ability to identify and explain the characteristics, properties, and functions of each layer of
the earth’s internal structure
Task 2:
2. Each group will represent as internal structure of the earth. (crust, mantle, and core)
3. The groups will create a presentation where they “become” that layer, explaining its properties,
characteristics, and function.

layers.
Beginner level: The student creates a model that shows some basic layers of the earth but misses
essential details.
Skilled level: The student creates a model that represents most of the earth’s layers with reasonable
accuracy.
Expert level: The student creates a highly accurate and detailed model of the earth’s internal structure,
showing all layers clearly.

5- Excellent The model is highly accurate and detailed, clearly
representing all major layers of earth’s internal

appealing, and demonstrates a deep
understanding of the topic. All features are
proportionate and well-organized.
4- Proficient The model accurately represents the major layers
of earth’s internal structure. Labels are mostly
correct and appropriate placed. The model is neat,
with some creative effort and attention to detail.
There is a clear understanding of the subject, but
some minor inaccuracies or missing details.
3- Satisfactory The model represents most layers of the earth’s
internal structure, but some may be missing or
inaccurately depicted. Labels are present but may
be unclear or poorly placed. The model shows
some effort but lacks creativity or attention to
detail. Basic understanding is demonstrated, but
more depth is needed.
2- Developing The model shows limited representation of earth’s
internal structure, with several inaccuracies or
missing layers. Labels are incorrect, unclear, or
missing. The model appears rushed, with little
effort or creativity, and shows limited
understanding of the subject.
1- Needs Improvement The model is incomplete, with little to no accurate
representation of earth’s internal structure. Labels
are missing or entirely incorrect. The model shows
minimal effort, lacks organization, and
demonstrates little to no understanding of the
topic.
