LYSSINUM LYSSIN – saliva of rabid dog.
Synonym : Rabies Nosode, Hydrophobinum
Source : Nosode Prover : Dr. Constantine Hering Preparation : It is prepared by trituration of sugar of milk saturated with the saliva of a rabid dog. Year : 1833 Sphere of action: 1. Nervous system 2. Throat 3. Sexual organs Ailments from: 1. Ill effects of dog bites 2. Abnormal sexual desire 3. Convulsions brought on by dazzling light or sight of running water(hydrophobia). Pathology: 1. It affects the nervous system causing convulsions. 2. It acts on the throat causing a hoarse, rough, weak voice. 3. It acts on sexual organs causing frequent seminal emissions and atrophy of testicles. Important characteristic features: Head: Lyssophobia; fear of becoming mad. Emotion and bad news aggravates; also, thinking of fluids. Hypersensitiveness of all senses. Chronic headache. Boring pain in forehead. Headache from the bites bite of dogs, whether rapid or not; worse by nose of running water or bright light. Heat of sun: Cannot bear the heat of sun. Mouth: Constant spitting; saliva tough, viscid. Sore throat; constant desire to swallow, which is difficult; gagging when swallowing water. Froth in the mouth. Saliva: saliva is tough, ropy, viscid, frothy in the mouth and throat with constant spitting. Convulsions: Convulsions from dazzling or reflected light from water or mirror, from even thinking of fluids of any kind, from slightest touch or current of air. Respiratory: Voice altered in tone. Breathing held for sometime. Spasmodic contraction of respiratory muscles. Male: Lascivious; priapism with frequent emissions. No emission during coition. Atrophy of testicles. Complaints from abnormal sexual desire. Female reproductive organs: It is a very useful remedy for uterine displacements. There is sensitiveness of the uterus, consciousness of the womb. Feels uterus prolapsed. Vagina is very sensitive, rendering coition painful. Leucorrhoea is profuse, running down the legs. Pain in left ovarian region. Any change of position that will tilt or rotate os uteri causes pain on slightest motion. Mental symptoms: • Lyssophobia that is, fear of becoming mad. • Mental emotion or mortifying news always makes him worse. Violent temper, impelled to do reckless things, such as throwing the child through the window. • Strange notions and apprehensions about pregnancy. • Rider, abusive;bites and strikes • Lord of consciousness. Does not see or hear people around him. The mere sight of a drinking vessel containing water is intolerable. • Thinking of fluids of any kind, even of blood brings on convulsions. Physical symptoms: Rectum: Desire for stool on hearing or seeing running water. Profuse, watery stools, with pain in the bowels; worse, evening. Urine: Constant desire to micturate on seeing running water. Modalities: Aggravation: from heart of sun, glistening objects, dazzling or reflecting light, wind, drafts, stooping, from bad news, mental emotions, riding in a carriage, from sight of running water or fluid or even thinking of it. Amelioration: by gentle running, steam or hot water bathing, from bending backwards. Comparison: Vertigo as and when crossing a bridge: Ferr, lyss. Sore throat with a constant desire to swallow: Lyss, lac-c, merc. Aggravation from looking at bright shining objects: Bell, Lyss. Tough, stringy saliva: Hydr, Kali-bi, Lyss. Extreme sensitiveness of the vagina: Plat, Thuj. Dryness of vagina, painful during coition: Lyc, Lyss, Nat-m. Dosage: 30 to 1M potency. Repetition: single dose or when symptoms call for it.
