Introduction

Upland kangkong (Ipomoea reptans.), has narrow leaves, is a popular leafy

vegetable cultivated worldwide due to its nutritional value and adaptability to various growing
conditions. To maximize the yield and quality of upland kangkong, the use of appropriate
fertilizers plays a vital role in providing essential nutrients for optimal growth and
development.
Inorganic fertilizers, such as nitrogen phosphorus (P), and potassium (K), are widely used in
agriculture to enhance crop productivity. However, the application of these fertilizers should
be carefully managed to avoid excessive nutrient accumulation, which can lead to
environmental pollution and adverse effects on plant health.
To address this concern, field evaluations are necessary to determine the most effective and
sustainable fertilizer application methods for upland kangkong cultivation. This study aims to
assess the impact of different inorganic fertilizer treatments on the yield components of
upland kangkong and investigate any potential occurrence of adverse effects.
By evaluating various fertilizer application methods, including different nutrient ratios and
application rates, we can gain insights into the optimal fertilizer management practices for
upland kangkong production. This knowledge can contribute to the development of
sustainable agricultural practices that maximize yield while minimizing environmental impact.
Understanding the relationship between inorganic fertilizer application and the yield
components of upland kangkong is crucial for farmers and researchers alike. It provides
valuable information to improve crop management strategies, optimize resource utilization,
and ensure the long-term sustainability of upland kangkong cultivation.
Methodology

This study with upland kangkong ( Ipomoea reptans) was conducted in Bohol Island State
University, on the month of August you'll need to follow a structured research methodology.
Here's a step-by-step guide to help you plan and execute your study:
1.Site selection:
Identify suitable field sites for the study, ensuring that they have similar soil characteristics
and are representative of the target growing region for upland kangkong.
2. Land Preparation:
Prior to planting, the site underwent thorough land preparation, which included plowing,
harrowing, and leveling to ensure a uniform surface.
3 .Experimental Design:
Randomly assign different fertilizer treatments to individual plots within the selected fields
sites.
4. Fertilizer Application:
Apply the different inorganic fertilizer treatments according to the predetermined nutrient
ratios and application rates. Ensure uniformity in application across all plots.
5. Planting:
Plant upland kangkong seeds or seedlings in each plot according to recommended spacing
and depth.
6. Data Collection:
Monitor and record various yields components of upland kangkong , including plant
height ,leaf number, leaf area ,shoot biomass ,and yield per unit area .Conduct regular
measurements throughout the growth period.
7. Soil sampling and analysis:
Collect soil samples from each plot before and after fertilizer application. Analyze the
samples for nutrient content, pH levels, and other relevant soil properties.
8. Statistical analysis:
Perform statistical analysis on the collected data to determine the significant differences
between the fertilizer treatments and the control group. Use appropriate statistical tests, such
as analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc tests.
9. Data interpretation:
Interpret the results of the statistical analysis to draw conclusions about the impact of different
inorganic fertilizer treatments on the yield components of upland kangkong. Assess any
potential adverse effects observed.
10. Discussion and recommendations:
Discuss the findings in the context of existing literature and provide recommendations for
optimal inorganic fertilizer application methods to maximize upland kangkong yield while
minimizing adverse effects.

By following this methodology, we can obtain reliable data on the effects of different inorganic
fertilizer applications on the yield components of upland kangkong. This information will
contribute to the development of sustainable fertilizer management practices for upland
kangkong cultivation.
