Preparing for Oral tests of ESEF / ENS / FSE
The most common questions:
1) Introduce yourself?
It is an honor to introduce myself, my name is X, | am X
years old, I was born in (your city) and got my
certificate in (your major) this year with a satisfactory
mark,
NB: Don’t mention everything in the introduction just
the shallow info.
2) Why you chose English?
Well, besides being interested in scientific subjects (if
you were a literate student), I cannot deny my tendency
toward English as well as my endless desire to learn
more about it, since it is an international language and ,
indeed, a must to have a genuine knowledge about
anything.
3) Why do you want to be a teacher?
The idea of becoming a teacher came up when I was at
1" year of high school. There was a lesson in my English
class called The present perfect that seemed a little bit
hard to understand for many of my colleagues so I took
the initiative to explain it to them and I was truly
successful in making the lesson easier. At that time, I
became passionate about English. Besides this, being a
teacher is a difficult and challenging profession that not
anyone can undertake, because the fare of future
generation is on our hands. Thus, we must be role
models as well as influencers on them for teaching them
values and making them good citizens for the sake of
society. Yet, I’m definitely ready to hold this mission
with love, honesty and sacrifice. For those reasons I am
here.
4) Since you told them about present perfect, the
next question might be: What do you know
about this tense?
FORM: Have/ Has + past participle of the verb
It is used when an action happened in the past and
continues up to the present moment, or if something has
just happened. There are indicators of this tense: yet,
since, before, for, just, never etc.uc Up ty ure prose:
just happened. There are indicators of this tense: yet,
since, before, for, just, never etc,
5) Why you chose ENS / ESEF or FSE: ESEF
Beni Mellal as an example
As far as I am concerned, I chose this ESEF in
particular because of the good training it provides as
well as its known reputation in Morocco. Also, it doesn’t
really matter where the school is but what can offer to
students and that is all I care about. In the other hand,
the professors here are very knowledgeable and devoted
to their job. Therefore, they can give valuable
information to their students.
6) What are your qualiti strengths and
weaknesses / The importance of this question
is to see how much you are positive
Talking about my weaknesses, I am so hard-working
student that I cannot answer anyone who is calling me,
because when I’m studying, I enter into a closed zone
where only my work matters. Maybe that would sound
like I am arrogant not to respond to the one who’s
calling me and getting focused on my work only, because
I just consider that as a source of distraction. Moving
swiftly on my strengths, when I was studying and had
my baccalaureate. I attended many extra hours in high
school to see how teachers teach lessons to students and
how they perform in order to transmit information to
them, which made me aware of the manner of teaching
in general. So even though I had my study to take care
of, I didn’t give up on my passion for that field which
makes me so faithful to it.
7) What would you add to your career
(teaching)?
Since becoming a teacher is what I aspire to be, I will
certainly give all my best for it and try any methods or
techniques in order to simplify information for students.
Also, I will be extremely motivated and positive towards
my students, so that they can feel confident to express
themselves inside classroom by making groups for
exchanging ideas and thoughts.

Of course, I prepared enough to pass this interview since I
am happy with this chance and I don’t want to lose it
because it has always been my dream to study here.

Yes, I am a leader because according to my work in groups

things done. Actually, there was a morning when our
teacher was absent and then I took the initiative to present
the lesson and guess what? all my friends were very quiet
and all ears so we were giving questions to each other and
everything was pretty organized.
10) What is the quality of a good and successful
teacher?
The most important qualities a successful teacher should
have are: Communication skills and listening to students
even when they are making mistakes, because at this point
they learn and it is up to the teacher to correct them
gently. Also, being openminded towards students’ opinions
and perspectives and instead of judging them, the teacher
is ought to encourage them to talk and share their ideas.

14) Quarantine (COVID 19): Distance learning
VS face to face learning?
Personally, I prefer face to face learning because we
have deep understanding of lessons and also the
communication with colleagues and with teachers
matters as well. Whereas, distance learning, we do not
commit to our lessons because it is really hard to stay
studying in front of the screen and which leads to
discomfort. As a result, the lack of understanding of
students towards their lessons.
15) What do you do in your free time?
Personally, I am active in my spare time and I like to
feel I am developing my capacities. I enjoy keeping fit by
doing sport three times a week, I also watch movies,
purposeful videos and read short stories for improving
my accent and getting more vocabulary. (Since you told
them about videos and movies, they might be the next
questions). Videos (an example): like ELLEN show, she
is an actress and comedian who receives celebrities from
all over the world and interacts with them. Short story
(tell them about its summary).
16) How would you deal with disruptive
behaviors in your classroom?
First of all, the golden rule of dealing with disruptive
behaviors is never do anything that will make the situation
worse, before starting a session I would say: Please switch
all your phones off, we are about to start. Then everybody
would keep silent and if the disruptive students did not
understand, | would stand next to them and start the
lesson.
17) What do you know about methods of
teaching?
There plenty of methods such as:
% Behaviorism: is a psychological study which
focuses on observing and analyzing how
environmental changes affect students’ behavior.
For example, the teacher can say: the one who
finishes all homework this week doesn’t have to
take the quiz on Friday. Or students who arrive
late will receive detention. Ivan Pavlov and Johnlesson.

Methodology?
Methodology is the study of pedagogical practices in
general, it includes what is involves in how to teach. While
Methods are the specific tools and procedures we use to
analyze data.
19) What is the situation of education in
Morocco?
Well, the situation of education in Morocco has
improved a lot because we have now enough teachers in
each school, so that students study in a satisfying way.
In fact, if there is a big amount of students inside the
classroom. The teacher would not give the lessons as it
should be. Also, the frame work law that facilitated
education in every area in Morocco and promoted
multilingual education as well.
20) What do you know about The contractual
teachers?
The contract system started in 2016 when the
government decided to replace the public employment
with this system. I think that the ministry of national
education has made a great strategy to put an end to
unemployment because if we looked back at the
previous teachers who were employed. They were just
3000. However, nowadays they employ about 17000
teachers per year; which is indeed a remarkable change
so without this contract hundreds of people would stayMorocco?

21) Do you have a role model?
In my point of view, the idea of having a role model in
life should not exist in anyone’s life because a role model
is a person that others imitate and if we keep imitating
we would be like copies and there would be no
difference, no creativity and no individuality. I mean
there are people who have great philosophy and their
ideas should be taken into consideration but I believe
that each one of us is special and can create his or her
own thinking without having a role model.
22) Important dates to keep in mind:

The Contract Day: 2016
