authentication using SPF & DKIM, enabling consistent results
for the sender’s messages.

▪ SPF – Sender Policy Framework

▪ Spam & phishing emails often use forged “from” addresses or


fake mail servers to convince the mailbox owner that they are
receiving a genuine email.
▪ SPF works at the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) level.
▪ SPF is an email authentication protocol that allows the owner of
a domain to specify which mail servers they use to send mail
from that domain.
▪ When a email is received, it validate by checking it against the
Domain Name System (DNS) to determine if the sending Internet
protocol (IP) address is authorized to send emails.
▪ DKIM – DomainKeys Identified Mail

▪ Spoofing email from trusted domains is a popular technique for

harder to spoof email from domains that use it.
