I. COURSE RATIONALE:
Increase in demand, is the reason for medium-sized and large-scale
enterprises to participate in the global market. They operate in production, and
procurement activities in regard to promote companies values to the global
customer. Therefore, companies need an optimal supply chain system, that can
support their operating activities in the global market.

II. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a


supply chain from suppliers to customers are covered in the Basics module.
This module covers manufacturing, distribution, service, and retail industries.
This includes the fundamental relationships in the design, planning,
execution, monitoring, and control that occur.

III. OBJECTIVES:

1. Understand the meaning of global supply chain management


2. Understand the factors needed in building supply chain system
3. Understand the fundamental role of supply chain management in global
economy

VII. GENERAL POLICY ON ASSESSMENT:


1. In order to receive a passing grade, a student must satisfy comply the
mandatory requirements of the subject such as:
a. Attendance at lectures and tutorial sessions.
b. Submission of assignments, projects and final class requirement
c. Passed all major examinations.
2. Mandatory work which must be submitted:
a. Information Management Plan
3. Attendance Policy:
a. The students are expected to attend 15 weeks of classes and should not
incur more than 4 absences.
b. Three latenesses is equivalent to one absent. Students who exceeded the
allowed number of absences are automatically dropped from the class
and will be given a grade of a F.
4. Assignment Policy:
a. Students are responsible to be adequately prepared before each class.
b. Students are in charge for all class work and lectures covered during
absences from class.
c. If absent, student should contact immediately his/her professor to
receive notes and assignments.

5. Exam Policy:
a. Students are required to take the exam as scheduled. Everyone is
expected to follow the instructions.
b. No special exam will be given except for those with valid reasons.

VIII. ACADEMIC MALPRACTICE


1. Cheating in all course works such as quizzes, examinations and written
reports are strictly prohibited.
2. Plagiarism is an offense against the work of the author. In case the student
uses the work of another, s/he should always mention the source of his/her
works. Violation of the same will be dealt with accordingly.
3. Use of mobile phone for any purpose during class hours should be avoided.
4. Sleeping, applying make-up and leaving class early is discouraged.
