I. OBJECTIVES Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the objectives, necessary procedures
must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and remedial activities may be done for developing content
knowledge and competencies. These are using Formative Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of
content and competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be
derived from the curriculum guides.

A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of: African literature as a means of exploring forces that human beings contend with;
various reading styles vis – à-vis purposes of reading; prosodic features that serve as carriers of meaning; ways by which
information may be organized, related, and delivered orally; and parallel structures and cohesive devices in presenting
information.

B. Performance Standard The learner demonstrates communicative competence through his/ her understanding of literature and other texts
types for a deeper appreciation of World Literature, including Philippine Literature.
