TRANSFER GOAL/S:
The students in the long run and on their own will be able to understand African Literature as a
means of exploring forces that human beings contend with, and transfer learning by composing and
delivering an informative speech based on a topic of interest, using the knowledge and wisdom
God had given us.
ESSENTIAL UNDERSTANDING:
The learners understand that individuality matters most in a diverse world, noting that an individual
is heard, valued, and empowered, and they will understand life and to find who they are in a world
where race, culture, and religion intermingle.
ESSENTIAL QUESTION:
● What makes a person unique?
● How will you be a big help in support equality amidst diversity?
● What is the purpose of the speech?
● How did the speaker emphasize her points?

MOTIVATION: Show a video clip of a well-known public speaker delivering a powerful speech.

APK: Engage students in a discussion about the impact of the speaker's volume and projection on
the audience.

II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT


● FOCUS: Volume and Projection

● LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:


a. note the volume and projection of a speaker’s voice;
b. listen for important points signaled by volume and projection;
c. demonstrate proper volume and projection in delivering an informative speech; and
d. appreciate the uniqueness of each clause and the beauty it gives when combined.

● PRESENTATION OF CONCEPTS

TAKE ESSENTIALS

● Volume is the loudness or softness of your voice, while projection is the ability to
adjust your voice in addressing the listeners.

● Volume and projection are essential in emphasizing important points of a


speech.
● ACTIVITIES

TEACHER ACTIVITY: Discussion of the concept


● Introduce key strategies for achieving proper volume and projection in speech delivery.
● Discuss the importance of vocal warm-up exercises and breathing techniques.
● Provide examples and demonstrations of how to adjust volume and projection for different
speaking situations.

STUDENTS ACTIVITY:
TASK 1
● Divide the class into small groups and provide each group with a short speech prompt.
● Instruct the groups to practice delivering the speech with varying levels of volume and
projection.
● Encourage them to provide constructive feedback to one another.

INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES:

● Speech Delivery Olympics: Organize a fun competition where students take turns
delivering short speeches with varying levels of volume and projection. Award points based
on clarity, audibility, and engagement with the audience.

● Volume and Projection Charades: Create flashcards with different scenarios that require
specific volume and projection levels. Divide the class into teams and have them act out the
scenarios while the other teams guess the appropriate volume and projection needed.

● Voice Warm-up Exercises: Lead the class in a series of vocal warm-up exercises, such as
tongue twisters, breathing exercises, and pitch variation drills. Encourage students to
experiment with different volume and projection levels during these exercises.
