Transit Analysis Tool Helps Identify Areas of Improvement in Delivery Network
Inputs City for which analysis is to be done Sample of articles delivered in selected city Scans information of the sample articles Calculation Sequentially classify each article as belonging to a specific category For example, check if an article is delivered in D+1. If yes, article gets classified in this category and will not be considered for further classification. If no, check if article belongs to next category in sequential order and so on Repeat till all the articles in sample have been classified Compute number of articles belonging to each category for each type of articles TD articles booked in POs, NTD articles booked in POs, TD articles booked in BNPLs and NTD articles booked in BNPLs Output Performance breakdown of city in terms of: Overall D+X of the sample Share of articles per category D+X per category Absolute and relative impact on D+X target due to each category List of articles belonging to each category Performance break-down is available by article type (TD or NTD) and where the article was booked (PO or BNPL)

Performance breakdown shows the share of articles per category and D+X per category in the sample input data Breakdown is available by article type (TD or NTD) and where the article was booked (PO or BNPL) Each article gets classified only in one category. The sequential order followed for categorizing articles is same as the order shown in the graph. First the tool checks if an article got delivered in D+1. If yes, the article is classified in this category and will not be considered for further classification. If no, the tool checks if the article was attempted to be delivered in D+1. Same logic applies to all articles/ all categories until all the articles have been classified

Articles belonging to categories attempted delivery in D+1 and missorted seem to have highest negative impact on D+X
Tool helps identify high priority areas of improvement, (i.e., categories which have high negative impact on D+X) so that circles can focus on solving root causes that will bring most improvement

Tool provides list of articles belonging to each category, which would be a good starting point to identify root causes of problems
Download articles of those categories which have been identified as high priority areas of improvement To download data, select the category in orange box and press on button Get Raw Data Data gets downloaded in tab Raw Data Dump
Circles may perform article level analysis and find out root causes of problem This could be done by tracking each articles history on India Post web site
