Use this worksheet to help you locate information sources.
3. Highlight or underline the most important words or phrases used in your thesis
statement above. (Remember you are creating a concept or idea search; you do not
need to use minor words.)

a. In the State of Qatar, almost half of the total waste produced each year
comprises of plastics. The host of FIFA world cup is expected to experience more
plastic pollution due to the rise of the population. Therefore, to increase
sustainability in the region, three recycling technology will be analyzed in this
paper based on cost, effectiveness, and sustainability to determine the most
suitable method of recycling.
b. Plastic pollution is one of the major concerns in the world, especially in the gulf
region, where the per capita consumption of plastics ranks amongst the highest
in the world. In countries such as Qatar, the total waste has risen from 1.5 million
tons to 2.5 million tons per year. Out of the total waste, approximately 40% is
plastic. Therefore, to combat environmental pollution and health hazards, three
plastic recycling technologies, chemical recycling, bioremediation, and
devolatilization to recommend the most suitable plastic recycling method.
c. One of the leading contributions to environmental pollution is improper waste
disposal and lack of recycling. In Qatar, out of 2.5 million tons of waste, about 1
million waste is plastic. The accumulation of plastic in landfills cause an
additional issue since plastic can take about 1000 years to degrade. Therefore,
to improve the life cycle of a plastic, three recycling technologies, chemical
recycling, pyrolysis, and bioremediation will be compared to determine the most
sustainable and effective method.

PART 2: Use Boolean operators in your searches (be sure to use capitals)
6. Decide which Boolean operators will be most useful to you and rewrite your
concept searches (#5) in the space below.
7. Next, consider two other search strategies (below) and add them to the search
terms in #6, as needed:
asterisk (*) for words that could have different endings
quotation marks (“ “) for words that need to be kept together (i.e., phrases)
(Review Online Research: Tips for Effective Search Strategies if you need help)
