SPEECH STYLE

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Before the game starts, arrange the seat to gather in the middle.
ICE BREAKER 1. 2 songs will be played. However, only one song corresponds to the game.
2. While the songs are playing, the paper ball must be passed around.
3. If you stop passing the ball to the wrong song, you will unwrap the paper and do the
stated task/question.
4. If you stop passing the ball according to the right song, you will have the power to
choose who will answer the given question.
5. Have fun ☺️

Note: If the paper accidentally falls from the paper ball and you are the last to hold it,
you will be the one to answer regardless if the songs hasn't stopped yet.
* If you stop at the right song, you will NOT be able to read the question before making
the decision to keep it or give it to another person.
* You will only have 15 seconds to answer the question. If you are unable to answer or
answered wrongly, then other people have an opportunity to answer the question.

ALL WHO ANSWERED WILL HAVE PLUS POINT IN THE QUIZ

SPEECH
It is human nature to express thoughts and
emotions. Thus, many speeches or forms of
communication in spoken language, made
by a speaker before an audience, have been
created.

Speeches are more formal than talking or


usual conversations. They are primarily
delivered to leave a remarkable message.

A speech read word-for-word from a prepared text.
Speaker has a written text to read to an audience from
a paper script or teleprompter. This ensures accurate
presentation of speech.

Is the rote recitation of a written message that the

about the subject.

Is mainly performed for the
purpose of educating the
audience on new or relevant
piece of information on a
particular topic.
Types of Speech Style
The context dictates and affects the way people
communicate, which results in various speech styles.
According to Joos (1968), there are five speech styles.
Each style dictates what appropriate language or
vocabulary should be used or observed.

Intimate Casual

Consultative Formal

Intimate
Intimate speech is used for
very close relationships.

NOTE: Language used in this


style may not be shared in
public

This is an informal communication
between groups and peers who
