Maybeyoudontdrawveryquickly.YoujustKNOWyoudneverbeabletogetfinishedintime whateverthatis. Maybeyoureabitafraid.Theyhavepeopleinpublicplaces! Theydaskyoutodotheirportraits. Theymightcreepupbehindyou/lookoveryourshoulderandgiveyouafright! Ormaybethedreadedcritiquecritterswillbeoutinforcesayingreallyrudethingsabout yourdrawing(becauseyouredrawingwhatsinfrontofyouanddonthaveareference photograph). Ormaybeyouhadanotsohappyexperienceonce,alongtimeagoandyourescaredof startingagain Allinallitsjusttoonervewracking!Youlackconfidenceandthatswhyyouveneverhadago.

Ifthisisyou,letslookattheexperienceofotherswhichmighthelptomakeyouthinkagain. Imagineyoureonaholiday.Youdliketobeabletosketchwhatyousee.Peopletellyouthatifyoudoyouwill alwayshaveamuchbettermemoryofthescene,amuchbetterrecordofthetruecoloursandvaluesthanany photocanprovideandthatanypaintingyoudowillbeimprovedbyhavingdoneapreliminarystudyfromlife. Drawingwithminimalaidswhentheonlydrawingsaidsyouhaveareyourpencilsandmaybea viewfinder,yousoonlearntodevelopyourobservationalskills.Lookingmorecarefullymeansyouget betteratmeasuringjudgingbyeyealone.Youalsounderstandmuchbetterhowaviewworksyou understandthearchitecturalperspective,theaerialperspectiveandgrasptherecessionwhichoften getsflattenedinaphotograph.
