1. Slide 1: Title Slide – “Mastering Project Management: PMBOK® 6th and 7th
Editions”
Narration: “Welcome to the course ‘Mastering Project Management: PMBOK® 6th and 7th
Editions.’ My name is [Instructor Name], and I’m excited to be your guide through this
comprehensive exploration of project management. Whether you're preparing for the PMP®
exam, enhancing your skills as a project manager, or just starting out, this course is designed to
equip you with the essential knowledge and tools you need to succeed.”
“Throughout this course, we’ll dive into both the PMBOK® 6th Edition and the more recent
PMBOK® 7th Edition, comparing their key frameworks, methodologies, and concepts. By the
end of this course, you’ll not only understand the differences but also know how to apply both
frameworks effectively in real-world projects.”
Slide Content:
Develop a deep understanding of project management concepts from PMBOK® 6th and
7th Editions.
Compare and contrast key frameworks and methodologies.
Learn to apply project management tools and techniques in real-world scenarios.
Prepare for the PMP® certification.
Narration: “Our goal for this course is fourfold. First, we’ll ensure you have a deep
understanding of the core project management concepts from both PMBOK® 6th and 7th
Editions. Second, we’ll compare these two frameworks, looking at how they have evolved over
time and why. Third, we’ll work through applying these tools and techniques in real-world
scenarios, so you’re not just memorizing theory but learning how to implement it. And finally,
we’ll help you prepare for the PMP® certification, ensuring you're up to date with the latest
PMI® guidelines.”
Slide Content:
Narration: “Let’s talk about why project management is so important today. In a fast-paced
business world, companies rely on effective project management to meet their objectives on time
and within budget. Project managers play a critical role in ensuring projects are not only
completed but that they deliver real value to stakeholders.”
“You may have noticed that certified project managers are in high demand. The Project
Management Institute (PMI®) has reported that organizations will need to fill millions of
project management positions in the coming years, so the skills you’re learning in this course are
not only valuable—they’re in demand.”
Slide Content:
Week 1-3: Introduction, Frameworks, and Comparison of PMBOK® 6th and 7th
Editions.
Week 4-6: Deep dive into Project Management Process Groups (PMBOK® 6) and
Principles (PMBOK® 7).
Week 7-9: Tailoring Methodologies and Agile Approaches.
Week 10-12: Case Studies, Practical Applications, and PMP® Certification Preparation.
Narration: “Now let’s go over what to expect from this course. Over the next few weeks, we’ll
cover the core concepts of project management. First, we’ll introduce both PMBOK® 6th
Edition and PMBOK® 7th Edition, looking closely at how they differ in approach and focus.
After that, we’ll dive into process groups from the 6th Edition and performance domains from
the 7th Edition. We’ll spend time learning how to tailor these methodologies to suit different
project environments, especially incorporating Agile and hybrid approaches.”
“We’ll also cover practical applications through case studies, helping you understand how to
apply these principles in real-world situations. Toward the end of the course, we’ll help you
prepare for the PMP® certification with practice questions and exam tips.”
Slide Content:
Narration: “One of the key focuses of this course is understanding the differences between the
6th Edition and the 7th Edition of PMBOK®. The 6th Edition is largely process-driven, with 5
process groups and 10 knowledge areas that guide how projects should be executed. In contrast,
the 7th Edition has shifted toward a more principle-based approach, focusing on 12 core
principles and 8 performance domains that define what makes a project successful.”
“We’ll dive deeper into these differences as we progress, but keep in mind that PMBOK® 7 has
been designed to be more flexible and adaptable to the changing landscape of project
management, particularly with the rise of Agile and hybrid methodologies.”
Slide Content:
Narration: “To get the most out of this course, I recommend that you stay engaged. There will
be opportunities to participate in discussions, complete quizzes, and work through assignments.
This isn’t just about watching videos—it’s about getting hands-on experience. As you move
through the content, try to apply the principles we discuss to your own projects. This will help
cement the knowledge and make it easier to retain.”
“If you’re preparing for the PMP® certification, we’ve got you covered. Every section of this
course will contribute directly to what you need to know for the exam. Take advantage of the
practice exams and review sections, and feel free to ask questions in the forums.”
Slide Content:
Narration: “If you have any questions throughout the course, feel free to ask! We’ll have Q&A
sessions at the end of each section, and the discussion forums are a great place to interact with
your peers and me. I also welcome your feedback—let me know if there’s anything I can do to
make the course even better for you.”
Slide Content:
Narration: “That wraps up our introduction! In the next lecture, we’ll discuss what a project is
and how project management has evolved. As we move forward, start thinking about a project
you’ve worked on recently—it could be professional or personal. You’ll use this as a reference
point throughout the course to make the learning more practical. Let’s get started!”
