2.1 Dimensions and weight (see chapter "Technical data")

Warning - Danger of Death!

Do not step or stay under swinging loads!


Strap machine securely for transportation on transport vehicle
(e.g. truck).
Only lift the machine by the marked load fastening points!

max. 60°

Caution - equipment damage!

Take care that no components are damaged!

2.3 Lifting equipment, transport eyes

 Use only tested and approved lifting equipment.


- Shackles, e.g. compliant with EN 13889
- Lifting chains, e.g. compliant with EN 818
- Lifting rope, e.g. compliant with EN 13414
- Textile lifting gear, e.g. compliant with EN 1492-2

Warning - general dangers!

When selecting lifting gear, pay attention to


sufficient load rating!

2.4 Checks during acceptance by the recipient

When accepting the machine, check for visible transportation damage,


particularly to
 moving parts
 electrical leads
 hydraulic lines
 pneumatic lines

2.5 Disposal of packaging and insulation materials

Dispose of packaging and insulation materials correctly in line with


regulations and environmental principles.
Observe national rules and regulations.

2.6 Reporting and documenting transport damage

 Any transportation damage found must be recorded on the freight


documentation.
 The supplier responsible (normally the truck driver) must confirm
the damage found on the freight documentation (by signature).
 Notify the manufacturer regarding transportation damage as quickly
as possible.
 For clarification of the damage and/or for documentation, a photo
should be taken of the transport damage.

2.7 Storage location, storage duration, safety measures

 All exposed parts of the machine are provided with anti-corrosion


protection before delivery.
 Store the machine in a dry and ventilated room.
 Store the machine on a level and stable surface.
 Standstill of the machine up to max. 3 months.
 All bearings are to be re-lubricated for standstill periods >3 months.
 For temporary storage, bare machine parts must be protected
against corrosion, e. g. with Tectyl 506 or a similar preservation
agent.

For overseas transports, etc. it is critical to contact the


manufacturer; the machine must be specially protected and
packaged in this case.

3 Assembly

3.1 Personal protection equipment

Personal protection equipment includes complete head protection


(head, ear, and face protection), safety gloves, and safety shoes.

Warning - General risks!

The complete personal protection equipment must be worn during


all activities where there is a risk of physical injuries.
Also take measures to prevent falling when working at heights
above 40 inch!

This applies to the following operations at the machine:

- during transportation
- during installation/dismantling
- during commissioning
- during operation
- during maintenance and service work

3.2 General tips

Warning - risk of injury!

Only lift the machine by the marked load fastening points!

Note

Observe the safety instructions in the "Safety" and


"Assembly" Chapters befor stanrting mounting works.

VECOPLAN strongly recommends that fitting work on the machine is


carried out by VECOPLAN skilled personnel. VECOPLAN accepts no
liability for damage as a result of incorrect work by third parties.
Installation and dismantling may only be carried out by specially trained
personnel!
Employees must be familiar with lifting gear and working above ground
amongst other things.

3.3 Installation conditions

When installing, allow enough space for maintenance and repairs.


Machines connected upstream and downstream are to be arranged
accordingly.
Check that the delivery is complete prior to installation. All parts are to
be unpacked correctly.
For installation of the machine:
 As a rule, only use operatives with sufficient expertise and who
have the necessary equipment.
 When installing the machine outside, special arrangements need to
be made and VECOPLAN consulted. Otherwise, the machine
should be installed in spaces which are roofed over. Damage from
the effects of weather, e.g. damp, ice, etc. are excluded from the
warranty.
 The relevant technical regulations must be observed.

3.4 Sling gear

 Only use permitted hoisting devices and sling gear.


 Never exceed the permitted load-bearing capacity.
 Only lift machine or machine parts at the marked load fastening
points.

Warning - Danger of Death!

Do not walk or stand under a suspended load!

Note

In order to avoid damaging the paintwork when


unloading with a fork-lift truck and to reduce the risk of
slipping, place rubber mats on the truck's fork.

3.5 Lifting equipment, transport eyes

 Use only tested and approved lifting equipment.


- Shackles, e.g. compliant with EN 13889
- Lifting chains, e.g. compliant with EN 818
- Lifting rope, e.g. compliant with EN 13414
- Textile lifting gear, e.g. compliant with EN 1492-2

3.6 Installation

Measures before starting to install


 Determining and establishing the axes
 Establishing the height marks

Installation is carried out (if required) in accordance with the installation


drawing.
When installing, the working processes and instructions listed below are
to be observed in particular:
 The machine must be aligned horizontally.
 The floor space / fixing surface must be flat and must possess an
adequate load-bearing capacity.
 The machine must not be tilted.

Note

The project-specific installation plan for the machine will be


created by VECOPLAN and handed to the operator,
depending on what is agreed in individual contracts.

3.6.1 Assembly

The static and dynamic foundation loading can be seen in the


dimension drawing.
Requisite minimum clearance for assembly and service work:

Caution - equipment damage!

Funnel must be capable of dismounting!

Place the machine on the prepared support points (supports,


foundations, etc.) with a forklift or truck-mounted crane.
Align and firmly anchor the machine in accordance with the
pre-determined axes and openings for material feeding and discharge.

Warning - general dangers!

The machine is to be firmly screwed to the ground with anchoring


dowels. Follow the safety instructions and installation instructions
of the dowel manufacturer without fail.

3.6.2 Assembly of the traversing frame

 Mount the side beams, front stop, rear stop and prop holder on the
VHZ and tighten all screw connections.
 Mount and tighten the screw connections of the frame to the VHZ.

 Mount the supports and tighten the screw connection.

Warning - General hazards!

Screw the supports firmly to the floor with anchor plugs.


Always follow the safety instructions and installation instructions
of the anchor manufacturer.

 Attach the VPC to load-attachment points using suitable and


technically faultless lifting gear and load-attachment equipment with
sufficient lifting capacity and place it on the VHZ as shown above.
Care must be taken to ensure that the roller sits cleanly on the
guide rail.
Do not stand or work under suspended loads.

 Mount and tighten all screw connections to the traversing frame.

3.6.4 Mounting of the safety switch

Note

The safety switch can optionally be mounted on one of the


two sides of the lateral beams, depending on the location of
the control cabinet.

Legende:

1 = Shredder VPC 4 = Lateral beams


2 = Safety switch 5 = Mounting area for chain with
actuator
3 = Shredder VHZ

 Mount the safety switch with the supplied screw connections in the
intended mounting area and tighten all screw connections.
 Mount the chain with actuator with the supplied screw connections
in the intended mounting area and tighten all screw connections.
 Perform the electrical connection between the safety switch and the
control cabinet according to the circuit diagram.
 Insert the actuator into the safety switch.

3.6.5 Mounting of the hopper

Warning - Danger of Death!

The machine may not be operated without a hopper.


The hopper must have a minimum height of 800mm.
During all work on or in the hopper, the machine and the electric
circuit must be released electrically and secured against being
Switched on again.

Attention:
Hopper weight VPC 1600 at 800mm height approx. 600 Kg

Note

If the hopper is constructed/supplied by the customer under


its own responsibility, the flange pattern for the screw
connection listed on the supplied machine data sheet must
be carried out as shown.

 Attach the hopper to load-attachment points using suitable and


technically faultless lifting gear and load-attachment equipment with
sufficient lifting capacity and place it on the VHZ as shown above.
Do not stand or work under suspended loads.
 Install and tighten all bolted connections.

3.7 After assembly

After assembly, the following must be observed:


 Check all screw connections for firm seating
 It must be examined whether the two V-belt pulleys are aligned with
each other.
 It must be examined whether the V-belt tension is set correct.
(the correct value is specified in the "Technical data" chapter in the
operating instructions)
 Close doors, flaps and covers
 Attach protective devices
 Remove foreign bodies (steel parts, tools) from the working space
of the machine and upstream machines.

If you have any further questions, please contact the installation


department of VECOPLAN, to prevent possible errors in assembly.

3.8 Electrical system

Warning - Danger of Death!

Work on the electrical systems or equipment may only be


performed by professional electricians or trained personnel under
the direction and monitoring of a professional electrician, and
corresponding to the rules of electrical engineering.

Warning - General hazards!

Machines with damaged electrical equipment must not be put into


operation.
Local control desks (operational controls) are to be attached so
that dangerous areas of the machine can be recognised.
With all control systems which are equipped with a UPS
(Uninterruptible Power Supply), the mains switch located on the
UPS must be switched off to isolate the control voltage.

Note

The electrical connection of the VPC control cabinet in the


VHZ control cabinet as well as the mains connection must
be carried out according to the specifications in the circuit
diagram.

All cables are to be laid protected in pipes or cable conduits.


Check the proper electrical installation in accordance with the
customer's requirements and local regulations.
Check and adjust the protective devices (motor protection relay,
earthling resistor etc.).
Note: Fault-free operation is only guaranteed by complying with the
criteria specified in the operating instructions for all the electrical
components used.

Note

The electrical control is designed for networks which are not


protected by residual current circuit breakers.
Should it be necessary to replace the switchgear with
RCD, it must be ensured that "all-current sensitive" RCDs
are used for frequency inverter operation.
Using standard RCCB units may cause false tripping.

Dismantling

4 Dismantling

Warning - Danger of Death!

We recommend that dismantling of the machine is only carried out


by VECOPLAN specialist personnel, by VECOPLAN supervisors or
by personnel trained by VECOPLAN.
The Vecoplan Service Department should be consulted prior to
dismantling the machine in order to prevent any risks during
dismantling.
Disconnect the system from the power supply and secure against
accidental switching-on prior to dismantling.
Assembly and dismantling may only be carried out by specially
trained personnel!
Employees must be familiar with lifting gear and working above
ground, among other things.

Note

When disposing of all types of process materials, observe


national rules and regulations to ensure correct disposal of
these materials.
Observe the safety instructions in the "Safety" Chapter in the
operating instructions for dismantling.
Observe the safety instructions in the "Installation" Chapter
in the installation instructions for dismantling.
