C. Motivation
- Show a colorful picture book and ask students if they like to read stories.
Show students a picture book cover and ask them to guess what the story
might be about.
D. Presentation
- Introduce the concept of a book cover and title page using large picture
cards (use the big book) include the parts of the book and a simple
definition.
- Show students the cover of a book and point out the title and author’s
name.
- Show students the title page of a book and point out the author and
illustrator’s names.
- Ask students to identify the author and illustrator of their own books.
- Read a short story aloud and point out the beginning, middle, and end.
- Ask students to identify the beginning, middle, and end of their own books.
- Discuss the moral lesson with students and ask them to explain what they
learned.
