A Semi-detailed Lesson Plan Parts of the Book

Grade III
Prepared by: Edward J. Lizardo (place this at the end of the LP)

I. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to;
a. Define and describe the parts of the book;
b. Inculcate the lesson of the story;
c. Apply and retell the parts of the book.

II. Learning Content:


a. Subject Matter: Parts of the Book
b. Key Concept: How Sagada got its name
c. Materials: Big book, Power point, markers, pointer
d. References: Sagada Reader, story teller
e. Values: “Everyone has the right to education”

III. Learning Procedure

A) Preparatory Activity
- teacher tells the pupils to fix chairs
- teacher lead a prayer

B) Review

C) Motivation: Pupils will stand and sing the “Sagada HYMN”


Beyond those troubles hills of the north
Lies my hope all laden with pines
Amidst the soft and silken touch
Of morning mist, I lay my prayers before thy shine
My thanks to thee, my love dressed in green,
My paradise unforeseen
My thanks to thee who spawned my love
Sagada, Sagada you’ll always be mine

Let the pupils sit and the teacher will explain the message of the song.

1. Present the Big book and its content


a) cover page-the tittle and the author of the story
b) bottom-where you can find the publishers name
c) top- common placement and arrangement of letter
d) left-backbone of the book where the thread is placed
e) right-common area where you can open the book
f) back-common page where you put your acknowledgement
g) pages-sheets where images and words are placed

2. tell a legend story “How “Sagada got its name”


include the story here

E) Application
a) Who is the character of the story?
b) What is the thing that the man is carrying?
c) When is the story happened?
d) Where is the setting of the story?
e) How “Sagada got its name”?
f) What did you learn about the story?

F) Generalization

IV. Evaluation

The teacher will group the class into four members, each group will have a
cardboard to write on their answers. Designate one to write and raise the
answer.

V. Assignment
Instruction: Ask your grandparents or your parents about the story on your
