Issue

This Bulletin has been released to inform the Dealer Network of the Clutch Learn
Procedure.

Clutch Learn Procedure

This procedure is best conducted with a cold engine as the adaption is much faster.
During the first 10 seconds of start-up, if the vehicle is left in NEUTRAL the Sportshift
System will perform a clutch learn or kiss point check. The system needs to monitor
clutch wear in order to maintain shift quality and crawl performance, therefore it is
beneficial to allow the system to learn and adapt.

Sometimes this is not convenient as the driver cannot wait for 10 seconds after starting
the vehicle, but we would recommend that it is allowed to learn from cold each day (if
used on a daily basis). This requirement is mentioned in the Owner’s Guide under the
‘Driving’ Section.

In summary:

1. Preferably with a cold engine, select NEUTRAL to illuminate the engine start
button.

2. Start the engine and allow it to idle whilst still in NEUTRAL for ten seconds.

3. You will notice a 'click' from the underside of the vehicle as it does the check,
this is normal.

4. If the adaption has drifted due to heavy clutch use, up to three learns may be
required to bring it back into specification.

New Clutch Learn in Procedure

1. Connect AMDS to the vehicle and under datalogger, Select Self Tune Clutch
Closed Position-Kiss Point Delta then start datalogger.

2. Carry out the Clutch Learn Procedure as above approxiamatley 5 times before the
car is driven. Note: The Ignition will need to be cycled between each Clutch
Learn Procedure.

3. Once the clutch has learnt its new kiss point, the reading should ideally be
between 550-600 counts.

4. Road test the car and check the clutch operation including the crawl feature.
