Part B: About the Course

Course Description Success in today’s competitive business environment is increasingly

employees. The students of human resource management must be
aware and understand the basic concepts, processes, and
functioning of human resource management in an organizational
setting. Therefore, this introductory course on human resource
management is designed with the following objectives:

In addition to lectures and case discussions, there will be emphasis on self and peer learning in this
course. Interactive mechanisms such as participative discussions will be tied to learning. The course

Part F: Evaluation: You will be working in a group (Maximum FIVE members) for the Case Analysis and
the Project. The groups list is uploaded in the AIS under ‘Resources’. The course will be graded on

Quizzes: The quizzes will include questions from course readings, lectures, and class discussions. Quiz
one will be conducted on 17th July and quiz two will be on 14th August 2023.

Case Analysis: You are expected to read the cases, discuss in your group, visualize various attributes
of the problem/s, do critical analysis, generate alternative solutions, and narrow down to the optimum
management decision. The deadlines for uploading the case analysis PPTs are as follows:

Group Project: This project aims at identifying talent management practices in select organizations.
Your group has to select, at least, one organization of your choice, which defined ‘talent’ and
established Talent Management department/wing/division/section. The guidelines for the project will
be given. The deadline for uploading the project in AIS is 25th August 2023.

Personal Learning Paper: “How your perception of HRM as a field of management changed (for good
or bad) after going through the FHRM course?” is the question to be answered in your personal
learning paper within 300 words. The Deadline for uploading the soft copy of your write-up in AIS is
31st August 2023.

Final Grading: The final grading will be relative. This will be consistent with the Institute’s Rules
