LEADERSHIP
Providing control, guidance, and direction to an organization.
Motivating and coordinating the organization to achieve objectives.
Influencing and directing others to complete tasks with obedience, respect, loyalty,
and cooperation.
Leadership can be exercised by anyone, guiding behavior in the work environment.
Inspiring confidence and gaining support to reach organizational goals.
A leader acts as a director, mentor, adviser, frontrunner and head.

YOUTH
As nation-builders, youth must develop leadership potentials like knowledge, skills,
and a positive attitude to ensure efficiency in achieving goals.
Fostering a spirit of service for the good of others is essential.
Training the youth to be servant leaders is crucial.
SERVANT LEADERSHIP:
Involves servanthood as vocation
Emphasizes stewardship , citizenship, and community
Supports shared power and decision-making
PRINCIPLES OF SERVANT LEADERSHIP (SPEARS, 2002)

Listening: Helps the group express and understand their needs.

Empathy: Tries to understand and appreciate each person's uniqueness.

Healing: Supports emotional recovery for oneself and others.

Awareness: Recognizes ethical and moral issues in a broad way.

Persuasion: Uses influence instead of authority to make decisions.

Conceptualization: Encourages thinking beyond immediate problems.

Foresight: Learn from the past to understand present and future impacts.

Building Community: Creates a sense of belonging among team members.


I. INDEPENDENCE (SELF-MASTERY)

Habit 1: Be Proactive: Take responsibility for your choices


and their consequences.

Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind: Define your core values
and life goals.

Habit 3: Put First Things First: Prioritize tasks based on


importance to align with your values and goals.
II. INTERDEPENDENCE (WORKING WITH OTHERS)

Habit 4: Think Win-Win: Aim for mutually beneficial


solutions in relationships.

Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood:


Practice empathetic listening to foster respect and problem-
solving.

Habit 6: Synergize: Leverage teamwork to achieve collective


goals through collaboration.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw: Maintain balance and


rejuvenate resources for sustainable effectiveness.
