George Noyce
George Noyce was a patient on Shutter
Island before getting transferred out.
Once away from the island he began talking
about the experiments being performed
there and highlighting the lack of
accountability. He was then seen as a
problem and transferred right back to
Shutter Island, where Teddy finds him
battered and bruised after having been
beaten up by Andrew Laeddis.
Trey Washington
Trey Washington is an African-American
orderly whom Teddy and Chuck encounter at
the start of the novel. Later, he tells Teddy
that there is a ferry leaving the island the
next and that he must be on it, after Teddy
taunts him for taking orders from the racist
warden. Like Teddy, Trey is a war veteran.

3. Daisy Buchanan – Gatsby’s former
lover and the object of his obsession.
She is married to Tom Buchanan and
represents the allure and superficiality
of wealth. Daisy is beautiful, but her
actions reveal her selfish and careless
nature.
4. Tom Buchanan – Daisy's wealthy,
arrogant, and aggressive husband. He
is unfaithful to Daisy, having an affair
with Myrtle Wilson. Tom represents
the old money aristocracy and exhibits
racism, sexism, and class privilege.
5. Jordan Baker – A professional golfer
and a friend of Daisy. She becomes
romantically involved with Nick and is
portrayed as cynical and dishonest.
Jordan also represents the modern
woman of the 1920s.
6. Myrtle Wilson – Tom Buchanan's
mistress. She is married to George
Wilson, a mechanic. Myrtle is
desperate to improve her social
standing and is drawn to Tom’s
wealth.
7. George Wilson – Myrtle’s husband,
who runs a garage in the valley of
ashes. He is devastated by Myrtle’s
affair and later becomes instrumental
in the novel’s tragic climax.
8. Meyer Wolfsheim – A shady
businessman and friend of Gatsby,
who is implied to be involved in
organized crime. He helped Gatsby
build his fortune through illegal
means.

Characters:
1. Jay Gatsby – The mysterious and
wealthy protagonist. He throws
extravagant parties at his mansion in
West Egg and is deeply in love with
Daisy Buchanan. His life is centered
around his attempts to win her back.
