Job Summary:
Assists in basic/simple planning, cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and basic/simple schedule development,
maintenance, reporting, and monitoring activities, as directed. Duties consist of a variety of tasks set within parameters established
by the procedure or process being supported and the cost or schedule engineer assigning the task.

JOB DIMENSIONS:
Supervision Received
Reports to and receives technical guidance and operational supervision from designated supervisory personnel.
Contacts
Maintains relationships with project personnel, particularly with individual discipline group leaders and engineers in both home
office and at jobsites.

Major Responsibilities:
The following duties are General/Common across disciplines within the Project Controls function:
1. Performs, as directed, routine quantity takeoffs, within discipline or commodity specialty, from engineering
and construction drawings. Collects and tabulates quantity data for summary comparisons and
reconciliations.
2. Assists in preparing graphic presentations from draft materials prepared by Project Controls personnel.
3. The following duties are performed with respect to Scheduling:
Assigns scope (hours, quantities, etc.) to schedule activities as specifically directed.
Calculates durations for schedule activities within a discipline or specialty based on scope (hours,
quantities, etc.), as directed.
Organizes appropriate quantity and work force information for an assigned discipline or specialty.
Gathers schedule information for updating discipline or specialty progress and performance reports, as
directed.
Inputs to various proprietary schedule software systems, including data preparation, file management,
report generation, and general file quality and content control. These systems typically include
Primavera, MS Project, Milestones, Schedule Contingency calculators, etc.
The following duties are performed with respect to Cost Engineering:
1. Assists in collecting, classifying, and categorizing cost data, as directed.

Education and Experience Requirements:


1. Bachelors in Engineering
2. Pursuing Post Graduation in Construction

Required Knowledge and Skills:


1. Beginning level of proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite of automation tools and in
cost/estimating/scheduling computer applications.
2. Experience performing statistical analysis. Understands technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity
determinations, and mathematical and financial records as required.
3. Beginning level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work
processes, as performed by Bechtel.
