Timing Lesson Plan

○ Have students get back into T-E-A-M groups, and finish sharing answers to cell city
questions
○ Have students type-up and submit report next day

25 min Cell Structure Note


○ Brainstorm a list of organelles with the students
○ Complete fill-in-the blank note (posted on google classroom)

15 min Learning Check


○ Have students select a partner. One person in the pair draws an animal cell and one
draws a plant cell. Students put line for labels, but do not include labels. When both
partners are done, they switch diagrams and try to label each other's cell.

10 min Cell Model Assignment


○ Have students select a partner. Together they are responsible for creating a 3D cell
model (plant or animal). They will have to present the model at a showcase, where peers
will provide feedback on the final product

5 min Homework & Wrap Up


NOTE: Allow for one day as a work period where students can bring in their materials to build the cell
